Great oysters with shallot vinegar, house soda bread and homemade butter. Locally landed turbot, blah blah blah, good wine, great service. Couldn’t recommend enough if you’re in town.
Ps. Professional enough to take the risk of running a January Saturday service with one chef and only the maitre d’ - not a quiet night and exemplary all the way.
5 starters, 3 mains may seem too limited but the appeal is in its simple sophistication. French influenced cookery, executed with soul. Using the best of what is fresh and local. As for the wine, they know what they're talking about. Go for the owner/maitre d' s recommendation. Would return in a heartbeat.
I have just been here for the first time and had the best meal I've eaten since moving to Folkestone- delicious bread, delicious butter, skate with clams. Really really good. Excellent value for money and some great music (Julie London, Nat King Cole -on vinyl !) Strongly recommended.
We had a lovely meal where the flavours in the food were amazing. The chef is a genius. A truely friendly place to eat. Great decor and a charmingly warm feel. We will be back!
Enjoyed the great lunch deal today - main course and a glass of wine for £10. Absolute gorgeous food and the best homemade ice cream ever. Can’t wait to return !
Lunch with friends today and fantastic food. We will return!! Very good value for the lunchtime menu and everything fresh as can be. Delicious locally sourced from experienced kitchen and excellent service.
Had a great meal here and very cosy and friendly. Folkestone has been dying out for a restaurant like this and will definitely be my go to place when friends visit.
Food was sublime .
Front of house was really attentive .
Wine list excellent .
Cosy and intimate setting .
Best meal I've had for ages
Highly recommended, another reason why Folkestone is such a great little town.!!!!
Very very good. We had the valentine’s menu for lunch. Chateaubriand and potato dauphinois was amazing! Thoroughly recommended!
I had a wonderful birthday meal here today, both food and service were exceptional
Delicious food every time , excellent choice of wines and the service is both friendly and attentive without being overbearing .
Had a wonderful meal at the Folkestone Wine Company on Friday evening. It's a lovely little place with friendly service! It's a small menu of locally sourced food which was so fresh and tasty. The wine was amazing too. Would definitely recommend 👌
This really is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is so good. Polly and her team are lovely. It's a total pleasure to eat here.
Far and away Folkestone's best restaurant.
Fabulous dinner at FWC for my mother's 80th. Fabulous food which was beautifully presented, simple and elegant. Warm and attentive service with a perfect wine recommendation which worked with both the lamb and the fish dishes that we chose. Looking forward to going back.
A lovely, cosy restaurant, ideal for a candlelit dinner. The food and service were excellent. Scallops on a bed of curried cauliflower puree were superb!
Like being in an exclusive bistro in France, only you're in Folkestone, Kent. Dave and Polly are the perfect restaurant hosts, cooking and serving the most perfectly simple, delicious plates of carefully chosen produce from Kent and Europe. Love, love, love. An absolute must visit.
Wonderful in every way, my new favourite place in Folkestone. Fantastic fresh fish and everything beautifully cooked. The wines offered are exemplary. Though it's not great for veggies its worth getting in touch to see what they can offer. Grace Dent is a fan and we agree
Lovely food, and good service. However if you are charging 'fine dining' prices please match this with the quality of the fittings, furniture and crockery.

Visited on a Sunday and such a shame it wasn't busier, it totally deserves to. Delicious food, and excellent wine list.
The tram really know their stuff so listen to recommendations.
Will be back when I am back in Folkstone.
Also, the creme brulee is to die for.
Great little place for some seasonal and delicious food. The menu changes as per the availability. Love the lamb dishes. Reasonablly priced.
Possibly Folkestones best kept secret? Simply fantastic all round. Food amazing. Superb friendly service. Wines for all tastes. Now don't tell anyone! Whoops I just have!
Special occasion venue, limited menu, excellently executed. Cannot praise this venue enough.
Literally cannot recommend enough. Some of the best food I've ever eaten.
Had dinner here with friends recently. Excellent food and great hosts. We will come back!
Small restaurant serving top quality food. D
A small, unassuming and intimate little restaurant with a small but perfect little menu. The food is delicious and cooked to perfection with a fantastic wine list. We chose the oysters, venison, bream and creme brulee. A sure favourite for me.
It's such a special place. We had a perfect evening with amazing food and lovely service. All ingredients were seasonal, local and fresh. Wine recommendations were spot on. Loved the atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
