Really good find on our way home. Amazing off on small plates, 5 for £12. Definitely enough for 2 people.

I don't often leave reviews, however, I had such a great experience here yesterday! The food was gorgeous and really fresh which is not often the case when it comes to 'pub' food. What made our visit even better is the amazing service we received from one of the servers Ellie - my little brother has sensory issues so dining out can sometimes be a struggle, but Ellie went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable and helped with every single one of our 'requests' thank you so much to Ellie and the rest of the staff - we are already looking forward to our next visit :)

Had to leave a review after coming here last night. I was served by Ellie who made my mum and dads experience! They don’t dine out often because they hate crowds but Ellie chatted to them and made them feel really comfortable. The food was reasonably priced and the service was quick! Would come back.

First time visit. Good atmosphere and good service. Great menu selection. Food was really good. Will definitely be going back.
Second visit, as good as the first. Love the kids menu, great choice, well worth a visit if you have kids.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere, family and dog friendly local pub offering clean facilities. Large beer garden with easy access to the bar. Has 2 car parks so parking available and has an electric charging station for electric cars.
Will be back for another visit soon.

Nice friendly staff, really roomy clean and tidy in the garden area you have plenty off seats and huts with a heater that you can turn on or off, dogs are allowed in the garden and they have a nice big tv that I think the use on warm days for sports, I do recommend going to this place if nearby, what would be nice and I think would be a good idea is to use the big tv outside for the kids when the sports is not on

Had a lovely family day at the grapes, formby. Food & drinks spot on & staff very friendly, especially Ellie whose service was fantastic and was very helpful in recommending what meals for the family to get! Highly recommend this Pub.

New management, great pub food , however LFC fans reserving areas to watch match , these are Fans that sell there tickets to live off the money , wearing tops too small and nursing a pint for a hour .
John Cosgrove
Characterful pub: large, divided into numerous different areas on different levels. Friendly. Good food but portion size was a little small for the price. 2 for 1 cocktails when we visited at lunchtime!

Thank you for looking after our walking group this afternoon. Friendly service and good food, what more could hungry walkers ask for! Plus going the extra mile to return a missed pole!!

Where do I begin? Christmas dinner was a shambles. Arrived at 3pm with my husband, 17 month old son, parents & brother and sister. Not exactly a crowd. First course arrived, they left things off my sisters plate, mediocre. 1.5 hours later, still no sign of our main. So I joined the queue of angry customers to complain. The manager basically let all of his young staff (who are a credit to the pub) deal with the complain whilst he sat and drank tea! Eventually our meal came... I've had a better ready meal. Potatoes were rock solid, turkey was dry and the veg was 1 floret of broccoli and 1 sprout!! Disgrace. My brother ordered steak, medium. It came tougher than an old boot and he may as well have ordered burger! Meanwhile no sign of the manager, by this point my 17 month old was shattered and getting upset. Needless to say we cancelled dessert and did not pay. Such a disgrace charging people £55 for that! It was a joke. The only saving grace about the whole experience was the fabulous young staff who sadly had to bare the brunt of the complaints on behalf of their manager! I will not be back.

Went for Boxing Day lunch all meals had been ordered in advance and it was quiet so expected quick competent service.... not so! Starters were fine but time between starter and main course was 40 minutes then not complete one meal had been burnt by the chef so had to be redone hence the rest of the food going cold whilst waiting to start. The veg was cold to start with and one festive burger was cold. Staff were very slow at clearing between courses and we Sussed that they were told this as the chefs were not ready with the food so not their fault. Asked for manager but did not appear left it to the poor waiter to deal with who was very good and reduced the bill.... but to be honest was not worth paying a penny for will not be going back. Went for Christmas dinner 4 years ago and was lovey obviously changed hands very disappointing.

Wouldn't recommend the 'Sharing Nachos' , unless you are on a nil-by-mouth diet. Not enough for one person, never mind two. When we complained, we were told the management control how much they are allowed to measure out. MJs nachos far better value

I recently had lunch at the refurbished grapes. The food was delicious. I had chicken with couscous salad & my husband had a cheese burger. Both tasted delicious & portion sizes were generous. Service was very good & personable. The grapes looks very elegant, contemporary & comfortable.

Great pub. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. New menu on the way though. The Red Star IPA was very enjoyable. Great to have a local brewery on hand.

Went to the Grapes following the refurbishment. So much better now, the food has taken a massive step up in quality, with the added bonus of table service from extremely professional, polite, and helpful young staff.

Had a lovely family meal with good friends as well. The beef rib was fantastic.

Food was lovely...Was practically empty yet we had to go to the bar to order drinks and ask because for bill...Very very slow service...Plates sat on table for nearly half an hour after we finished. Employ some experienced waiting on staff!!

Not too good unfortunately. Food was passible staff were a little rude at times. Smallest side order of chips i have come across for £2.29 made worse by the fact they were under cooked. If you can't cook frozen chips i ask you? The sweet potato chips fared better cooked fine and were very tasty.Shame they were cold!
The rest of the food was just badly presented. Forgettable experience all in all.
