Always excellent food & friendly service in atmospheric surroundings we tried other big city restaurants & this always exceeds those a little gem hidden in Frome's skyline
Had a lovely meal thus evening, we opted for the a-la-carte buffet and the food was fantastic, service was 5* and the staff were very helpful and accommodating, easy access for less able bodied. Will definitely be back again

Very good restaurant, excellent food and wonderful service set in the quaint old village of Frome. Even have Riedel glasses if you ask. I definitely be back.

I am surprised by the negative comments regarding Dragon Pearl, Frome. We have been many times now and have always received excellent service and excellent food. Small bowls really? That's your complaint! The idea is you take little but often and don't waste food. The idea that all food must be eaten is to stop people over-ordering. They do hate waste but I see no real problem with that. Having said that some waste is expected and as long as it's not excessive that's okay.
It can be a little confusing getting your head around the ordering method but the staff are always on hand to explain it but granted English is not their first language (but it's better than my Chinese) and you're usually left even more confused! But then who really cares. Slow service can happen anywhere you go and with a larger than normal group this has to be expected sometimes. On the whole ours has always been at a relaxing pace giving time for good company & conversation between courses. You can re-order as many times as you can eat. The quality of the food is excellent. The restaurant is clean and a pleasant place to be. We'll be back for sure.

Visited two times on my recent visit to Frome. Customer service was great. The food was spot-on with fresh ingredients, good strong flavours, and some interesting dishes on the take-out menu, which is different from the dine-in menu. The dine-in menu is simplified to pick your preparation, then your protein, then the starch option. I liked the simplicity of the menu. Just be aware that the take-out menu is has some different options. Final note, their Carlsberg beer on tap is delightful.
We loved it here, had a meal when visiting Frome and it was probably the best Chinese meal we have ever eaten, and we've eaten many in our time! Everything so well cooked and flavourful. Kind staff and good atmosphere. Would highly recommend the Udon Noodle dishes. Plenty of vegetarian options if you have veggies in your party. We'll be back when we return to Somerset.
Love this place. Have ordered many many times over the years. Our faves are salt n pepper prawns, Thai Green curry and black bean chilli :)
THE best Chinese!! Extensive vegan menu aswell which is a huge bonus. Staff are always lovely and always chat to the children when we pick up our take out. Definitely recommend!

It was marvellous, an early working supper, the menu was Fab, and the food very authentic. The staff are very sociable as well. Great outlook over Bath Street and the historic St Johns church.
I hadn't been to Frome in 3 years so someone recommended I eat in the Italian. I went in the wrong door and ended up here and I'm so glad I did. The food was delicious and the service was very good. They had a trainee waitress on that evening and they checked my order just in case but she got it spot on. The food came really quickly and it was full of flavour and quite a large portion.

Both takeaway and in house are great. This is our go to Chinese food in Frome. It's always fast, hot, great quality, and we get little fortune cookies (that are concerningly accurate?)
Great Chinese, good menu with enough selections to suit everyone. Good value and very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice bright and clean dining area. Only drawback is that it is upstairs which are quite steep.
Oh god, this was bloody good, and I've eaten a lot of Chinese food. Ordered a delivery on Friday, busy time, came quickly. I've never seen such an extensive selection for vegetarians with meat alternatives. Superb. I'm not a vegetarian but I only really eat chicken and seafood, but I'd ease off the chicken easily if every Chinese offered these dishes. I went for the satay and kung po - both lovely. I'm only here for 2 weeks, and hopefully I'll grab more from here.

We ordered food from here over a week ago as an alternative Mother’s Day meal due to current global circumstances.
The food was absolutely delicious! Lots to choose from, all of what we had was eaten.
Portion sizes were okay. The rice and curry was spot on, though some of the appetisers were too small.
The pricing was okay, though with the style of the menu, you want to purchase multiple dishes, which quickly add up in cost. Not something I’d be able to afford regularly as I’d need multiple dishes to fill me.
The staff over the phone were very polite and friendly, as well as safety conscious in line with the current global situation, explaining the delivery process thoroughly.
however we did have to wait an hour for it to be delivered, which can be forgiven as lots of people are ordering deliveries at the time of writing this.
I ordered from Dragon Pearl recently, and so far they're the best Chinese restaurant. I've found in Frome. When I called to order, the person I spoke to was well spoken and polite. They can take card payment over the phone. The food was delivered about 40 minutes after I ordered, and arrived so hot that I accidentally burned my mouth!
I ordered egg fried rice, chicken in black bean sauce, and sweet and sour chicken balls. All the food was delicious. The black bean sauce was well seasoned, with a good consistency. All of the chicken was tender and seemed like good quality meat. I'll definitely be trying out some of the other items on the menu.
