My partner and i have visited this place on and off for a number of years. The food is consistently a high standard using quality ingredients and creativity. We visited again today with our dog and had the works, starter, main and pud..... all excellent, served by very friendly staff. Highly recommend! 😁

As I am not a lover of fish I found the menu a little limited but what I did have was lovely. Nice surroundings, the wasps particularly like the outside area. Would happily visit again.

Been eating here for years now whenever we visit family in the area and we just love it. Never had a bad meal, food is always scrummy and so fresh and well cooked, fabulous Pinot and good pints, excellent service and I. The most loveliest of locations right alongside the river. Even Tripod the cat comes to say hi but we did miss him this visit. Highly recommend if your in the area x

Wonderful varied menu including food for two of us vegans. Stunning setting, lovey staff, perfect service and great atmosphere. Why can't there be places like this where we live in Cardiff, even just the one?

One of my favourite places to eat and the River Wye setting is ideal. A short but perfectly formed menu reasonably priced. Love the fish and chips. If you love fresh fish this is the place to go. The scampi and pea starter was delicious and the chicken brest salad not bad either! Another very good evening at the River Cafe, very busy and lively. Soup, squid and goats cheese to start followed by lamb, pork and hake. Together with a bowl of crispy chips to share.

What a magical place to stay. The rooms are beautiful and clearly have been newly decorated and fitted. The cafe serves brilliant coffees, cakes, sandwhiches, quiches, freshly baked bread. Perfect for picnics before you head out into the Breacon Beacons to explore.

Located on the premises of what was the River Cafe (and the newsagents many years ago). A nice little cafe overlooking the river Wye. Eat in or take away, with an exciting selection of cakes, savouries, and sandwiches. I enjoyed a good coffee and Welsh rarebit, the soup looked good too.

Its the second time I've been to the river cafe where once a year there is a jamming session for the harpists with the Glasbury Arts Harp Summer School. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and the meal was delicious. Hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had, and the pasta there was perfect! The Eton Mess was also lovely! Great atmosphere, a beautiful view over the river, and excellent food and service! I would very highly recommend!

We had a very nice lunch here - scampi monkfish with minted mayonnaise and peas. All had different desserts and well presented. Quite a basic setting but excellent quality food. The staff were really attentive without being in our face. We will certainly go again.

We stayed at the river cafe on a cycling trip and loved it here. They locked our bikes away securely, left us tea & cake for us when we arrived late, the room was so comfy and warm, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Dropped into The River Cafe today with my wife and two friends. Very pleasant experience had by all. We ordered 2 steak sandwiches with chips and 2 fish and chips. All cooked to an excellent standard with decent portions. Service was more than satisfactory and the cafe itself is to restaurant standards, even beating some of the restaurants I've eaten at. Well worth a visit. Thankyou

The manageress was delightful and very helpful. We only had tea and toast but when I asked for river Wye paddling advice it was no trouble for her to get one of their professional guides to come and talk to me. Priceless advice.

Fabulous food, great staff and a brilliant chef. New chef, new menus! Tried brunch today (23/09/18) all really good. There will be changed menus each day for all meals but some old favourites will remain eg. Fish and chips. It will be interesting to see how this will unfold in the coming months.

Great service and fantastic food. Menu is short and some may find it limited but its a case of quality over quantity in terms of choice. Portion sizes are generous and the price is reasonable for the area. The location is excellent and the opportunity to eat by the side of the river Wye in good weather really sets this place apart atmosphere wise

This is a lovely place that serves a fairly average priced cup of well made tasty coffee. The food is delicious and served by very happy, pleasant and professional staff. The cafe itself feels cozy whilst functional with plenty of space aroind some large tables interspersed with smaller cosier 2 and 4 seaters. The view onto the river is second to none, in the sunshine it would be nothing but splendid. Good cuppa, good food, great location the River Cafe has it all in spades!

Stopped here for lunch, had an excellent steak sandwich & coffee. Beautiful situation by the river Wye, lovely, I would imagine to sit outside in the summer. Staff were friendly. Thoroughly enjoyable.
