Shoney's

The food is typical American fare and is decent quality, about what you'd expect for this type of place. The staff was friendly and courteous, the atmosphere is laid back, not hurried. The restroom (mens') was decently clean. The dining area was clean and well kept. The buffet food was alright but the fried chicken was overly crunchy and the diced melons were hard, notably lacking in flavor. Some other items such as biscuits and French toast sticks were overly dried out and quite difficult to chew. Overall a fair dining experience, nothing exceptional.

The buffet was quite expensive for what is offered: $13.99 per person - two adults and 2 teenagers ages 13 and 14 Fish and chicken, no BBQ, no steak, no meatloaf or many other meat options Desserts are limited and no cookies, cakes, brownies, puddings, etc OR ice cream machines The food was fresh but... some of the potatoes were dried out and had lumps in them and the ones on the left side of the buffet near the salad bar were fresh, but overall, that is probably because the potatoes were sitting there awhile which could happen from that and people not wanting mashed potatoes. The waitress was kinda unfriendly and our silverware took 5 minutes to get to the table, we had to wait 5 more minutes on drinks as the workers talked when our drinks became empty. Overall,  a 3 out of 5, not awesome, but if they had more options for food options, it wouldn't be too bad for the price, otherwise, I'l take my business to golden corral which has more offerings for about 1 to 2 dollars more in Richmond, Kentucky. The workers at Golden Corral are more friendly too, waitresses were fast at responding to my table prior there and are helpful if I need help with anything like a Golden Corral To-Go order which they helped me with prior for my oldest daughter that is 14. :) 3 out of 5 stars

This is only my second one star review out of many reviews. The restaurant was very disorganized and filthy, and the bathrooms were worse than several middle f nowhere gas station restrooms I've seen where you turn around and leave the second you walk in, the floors and tables were disgusting. A customer came in with a large group of people. When the hostess told her to wait, she and her family began taking supplies, demanding utensils, and organizing tables while the very loudly took over the restaurant and the employees just let them. It was disrespectful to everyone who had been waiting in line for twenty minutes already. There was one great waitress, a younger girl with straight blonde hair. She consistently smiled and ran around trying to undo all of the crazy while serving everyone with kindness, despite the insane situation that she was put in. My family and I will not be revisiting this location, but that waitress needs a raise.

I went in for a interview. The male manager told me I had the job so I went back the next day to start work. A lady employee took me to the kitchen to begin. A woman manager starts yelling at us and escorts us out of the kitchen and I told her I was hired by a male manager. She looked me up and down and said no dress paints is allowed and the dress shirt was not allowed and I told her the male manager gave me the shirt and he was going to order me more. She said I was not on her schedule and she said we don't hire on Friday the 13th. She said we will call you back. Nobody called me back she just didn't want me working there. It's a shame to treat people like that. For her to be a manager she's not professional and no way to treat people like that. She should be ashamed of herself. 😡
