Luxurious fine dining experience in Glasgow. The food was great, and the service fantastic. However, be ready to spend a pretty penny, we spent over 350 pounds for 7 people. We thought that Halibut and the Monk Fish were fantastic, although we would have preferred a tad more Halibut on our dish considering the high price tag. Overall a good experience.

My partner and I were at Gamba last night…and WOW!! Seafood is my favorite cuisine and Gamba ticked all the boxes and more..food and service was really outstanding
We cannot wait to go back ❤️…

Loved the food. Really tasty fish soup to start. Sea bream was excellent. Good choice of wines to accompany our meal. Pleasant setting and friendly staff. Keen to get back again soon.

If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, cozy place for dinner you should visit the Gamba restaurant. There is a great atmosphere, excellent service and incredibly tasty dishes. It's not just food - it's works of art, it's culinary design. And Chef Derek is an artist in the kitchen. My birthday was wonderful here.

Lovely quaint, little restaurant, I was there for lunch, very tastey food, which was well presented. I had food off the set menu & glass of house white included in the price. Waiters couldn't do enough, in fact went out of their way to get us gluten free bread rolls as my friend was on special diet. Will definitely be back. Thoroughly delicious food.

My favourite restaurant in Glasgow for a treat or occasion. Is a fine dining Scottish Seafood restaurant. Would recommend I'd you love fish and don't mind spending a little more for a special treat.

We went to Gamba for the first time for my wife's birthday as her favourite is seafood, personally I'd rather not, however I was bowled over with the tastes and experience.
The fish soup to start is lush, all of the dishes were sublime and well worth the price.
Whatever the occasion, Gamba is a delight...
Wonderful staff, excellent service, fantastic menu, lovely decor and ambiance.
We will absolutely be visiting again.
Highly recommended!!

It's no surprise that Gamba's food, service and atmosphere are all excellent. My wife and I have visited a number of times and have always been really impressed. Our visit last week was no different. If you enjoy seafood and really want to treat yourself to a first rate fine dining experience, then Gamba is the place to go. We had oysters to start which were incredible and prepared simply and beautifully. The fish soup with prawn dumplings was outstanding and the mains were even better. My wife had lobster and I had surf and turf which was a fillet of beef cooked PERFECTLY with king prawns, a scallop and truffle mash potato. Highly recommended.

The service was impeccable, warm, friendly and professional. The food was beautiful starting with the complimentary warm fig bread roll. My starter watermelon, feta and prawns in a citrus and fennel dressing worked so well, a flavour explosion!! My main blackened cod in teriyaki sauce, sesame rice and tenderstem broccoli was cooked to perfection. Cheese board and Port to finish, superb. Perfectly chilled wine to compliment the meal. It is not cheap but the food is cooked with passion and care and if you love fish you will love this consistently brilliant restaurant.

A must go to Seafood Restaurant in Glasgow city centre. Food was amazing, very very tasty and melted in the mouth. Fantastic menu. Staff very friendly, professional and attentive from the minute you walk in until you leave. Beautifully decorated too. Remember to buy their cookbook signed by their amazing chef. Highly recommended for a celebration of seafood culinary excellence. Thank you to all the staff and the chef for making our 33rd anniversary meal a very special one to remember. We will be back.

Amazing, fish soup was the best I've tasted. Sole meuniere was unbelievable too

Amazing food and amazing service! We went there with two young kids and the chef kindly did the best fish
goujons ever. They were light and soft. The kids loved it. This could have gone pretty wrong and could possibly ruin our evening, dealing with grumpy kids who are not happy with the food, but it turned out to be a very pleasant evening and we all enjoyed ourselves.
Thank you Gamba team!

The seafood in Scotland is very good but Jamba was over the top great. Friendly and helpful service from the entire staff. One of the better wine lists in Glasgow

Another good visit! Always like to stop in for a visit when I am in Glasgow, but had not been here for a while due to the pandemic. Recent repeat visits at other venues had sometimes been disappointing but Gamba did not fail to impress - well done all! Ambiance has not changed. Menu was spot on, prep & presentation excellent, as was the service. If you are after an early meal, the pre theatre menu is particularly good value. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and so happy to have had another delightful repeat visit. As before, highly recommended and look forward to returning.

If you’re looking for something a bit special, this is the place to come. Almost exclusively seafood dining, really good range of dishes, along with a decent wine list to match. Feels very informal, with personal service. Can’t recommend it enough

Lovely cozy seafood restaurant, amazing food, just a shame some starters and mains were sold out by 7pm, service was slow at times, overall a lovely experience and would recommend a bit of luxury.

Super fresh ingredients with the chef preparing well dishes. Style could be more polished and refined finish for the pricing.
Good champagne and wine section to accompany the dishes.
We had drinks before getting seated. It would have been nice to have selection of nibbles to order as having wines with empty stomach is not great.
Overall an ok experience.

Exceptional seafood in the center of Glasgow. The seafood soup was delicious, thickened with crab meat (no gluten!) and the grilled fish was beyond crispy and fresh. Highly recommend the Gamba fries.

Its a really nice fine dine with a great vibe in its ambiance. The food served was quite well presented as well. The portion of the food was a bit pretentious and the price were a bit overpriced. The service could have been have been a bit better but rest assured a lovely place to dine in.

This is the second time we have dined here. We had an excellent meal, all dishes very well presented and very enjoyable.

Service was generally fine but not quite at the level to be expected at a restaurant of this quality. Serving staff seemed to be rushed and a bit distracted, not sure if this was because of a large group who sat down for their meal about 30 minutes after we started.

However, this does not take anything away from the overall quality of the meal and I would happily return again when in the city.

Well to be honest THEY HAVE BEZRE hehehe enough said. They have special tartar tomato sauce with some sweet chilli which makes it More scotich hehe. Love everythin in it from the food and the ambient.

Attractive restaurant, friendly attentive staff, excellent food, however, this reviewer has one major gripe. My wife has a gluten intolerance, which we informed the establishment of when we booked. Fair enough, her need was catered for, but this obviously meant a degree of restriction to the menu. What let this down for us was when the bread basket came round. Now I don't know about staff training here, but judging by our server, I wasn't impressed. He offered a rye bread to my wife...uh uh. Rye contains gluten. Plus even if it was ok for her, it was contaminated by being in the basket beside other breads and also served by using the same tongs as same. Our meal was lovely, but this error overshadowed our dining experience. If anywhere offers a menu catering for dietary requirements, of which there are many, then is it too much to ask for the staff to be fully competent with said requirements?

First night out since Mrs C discovered her gluten and dairy intolerance. Friendly welcome on arrival followed by a seat in the cosy bar as your table is made ready. My wife informed the staff about her dietary requirements and a menu was quickly presented. Pretty restricted choice because of her dairy (lactose) intolerance, limiting her to only two or three options. However, the food was beautifully prepared and presented when it arrived. Seems to be a popular destination of an evening judging by the amout of diners that were in.
Ok, enough ego pumping. Let's look at the down side. Despite advertising a decent gluten and dairy free menu, it didn't seem that way (see above). In my opinion, if you offer a menu for those with allergens then surely the front of house staff should be well versed or trained with regard to what customers can and cannot have. Case in point; my wife was offered a bread roll. She informed the server about her condition and he sought out the manager for advice. In the end she was offered a rye roll. I tried to warn her against this for several reasons. The roll was in the same basket as the other gluten packed ones and was served using the same tongs. Cross contamination! Also, thanks to chef training, I know rye contains gluten. Sadly our night was cut short as she quickly became ill.
Nice place. Lovely food. Good atmosphere. But that incident let it down for us.

The range of main courses was equally impressive, such as Lemon sole simply grilled or pan fried in browned parsley & lemon butter and Isle of Gigha organic halibut, scallop cream, smoked haddock, peas, sunblushed tomato. There was also sirloin or pheasant for those who didn't fancy seafood and the vegetarian option of Pesto, red pepper and artichoke tart, rocket & parmesan salad sounds delicious.

First Class food, and I have eaten at Gamba with clients and friends 4 times in 2 weeks.... That's how good it is.

Absolutely excellent food. Expensive but worth it. Staff were a little reserved, verging on snooty.

Very good + very expensive. Sat across from Celtic legend Pat Bonnar which was a nice start, not so nice was the freezing cold aircon that I had to ask the staff to turn off. Glasgow in October and they had the aircon on!!

The food was faultless, fish soup followed by spaghetti + mixed seafood, my wife had cod and prawns. We also ordered some chips and they were a delight - nice and brown and made by a chef that certainly knows his / her chips. Take note everyone an eaterie that sells real (as opposed to frozen) chips.
No complaints whatsoever about the quality of the food and the presentation.
The house wine we opted for was a light, fruity Italian red (I know you should have white with fish but who cares) reasonabaly priced at around £15.00'ish.
The loo was spotless and my overall experience was very good indeed.
You need deep pockets for this place however, we spent £116.00 ! 9/10.

Probably the best seafood restaurant in Glasgow. Diners are rarely disappointed.

Extraordinarily Good Seafood. Gamba is one of those restaurants that has been so good for so long that it is really easy to overlook it's virtues. For 11 years it has been arguably the best seafood restaurant in Glasgow. The food isn't cheap, but it so beautifully prepared & professionally served that it seems churlish to complain. The fish is lovingly treated and never overpowered by the accompanying sauces. I have never been disappointed by the desserts (always the highpoint of a meal for me) & my wife rates the fish soup as being the finest she has ever tasted.

For one of Glasgow's best seafood restaurants it was a bit dissappointing with a delay in service when a check was misread in the kitchen resulting in a wait for a small bit of monkfish and a larger slightly underdone bit of monkfish?? Not great?

One of the best seafood testaurants in The UK
Gekaha
Fantastic restaurant. Quite pricey but really worth it for a special occasion

I was highly impressed with Gamba. Edinburgh still remains curiously light on specialist seafood places, so it was really good to come across such a great Glasgow exponent

Excellent fish restaurant. Cosy, romantic and hidden atmosphere. Service is very good with non intrusive staff.

Set menu is one to head for.
