This restaurant is a real hidden gem. There is an interesting and varied menu with quite a few dishes we hadn't seen before. The waiters gave excellent advice in relation to selection and choices and are the most interested I can remember. We shared the chef's platter for two between three of us and there were generous quantities of delicious and freshly cooked pakoras. We ordered a selection of varied curries for main course and they were all well cooked and very flavoursome. The portions were generous and we struggled to finish. The waiters were keen discuss other dishes when we had finished and most pleasantly thanked us for the custom and encouraged us back. We will definitely try if we are in the area again!
Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant, food was absolutely delicious, king prawn pakoras were awesome , staff very friendly and welcoming, helpful all the time quick service for a saturday night, great atmosphere relaxing wee place in the southside for those who love curries
My daughter ordered takeaway for us tonight for mother's day, She's vegetarian so we got 3 veggie curries to share. They were all delicious! I have ordered with vegan friends before and there are lots of lovely options for them. The menu is surprising and extensive and includes lots of choice and is easy and fun to order. The difficult part is narrowing it down to an acceptable order!! Delivery was quick and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you New Gandhi!
Ate there for the first time last night, amazing experience from start to finish.
Waiter was friendly and welcoming. He took the time to explain the dishes to my husband who is not the biggest lover of Indian food. But with the help of our waiter he is now a convert. The food was delicious and we will be back for more. Thank you to all the staff who made us feel at home.
Ordered delivery from here countless times over the past year (usually via their own website so they don’t have to pay fees to just eat) and I am ALWAYS impressed. Amazing vegan options, the food is always delicious and usually arrives very quickly and piping hot. We always order the same thing because it is so delicious. The naan bread is always fresh and a great size, veg pakora crunchy and flavourful & good portion sizes of curry too. We recommend it to everyone who asks for takeaway options in the south side or for vegan friendly restaurants. Can’t wait until they reopen their for sit in so we can try that. Love you new Gandhi!!!!!
Absolutely amazing food. Best Indian I've had in a long time. Definitely be back. We got the sheik kebab starter and balti chicken curry delicious even the chips x
We order from New Gandhi quite often, one of the best Authentic Indian restaurant in the area. Nice ambience, friendly staff and consistently delicious food. We had a positive experience with them everytime.
Friendly place, been twice and had takeaway a few times. The food is really good quality in a city where there is a lot of competition for Indian food. Naan was light and delicious, and the two lamb curries we had were v tasty. I always feel that if it was in a busier/more affluent area and not hidden away, it would get the recognition the food deserves. Special mention to the mozzarella balti, doesn't sound like it should work but was a star dish in our group.
Ordered for the first time tonight and absolutely loved it. The chicken curry was cooked perfectly.. so fresh and tender ! My parter really enjoyed this lamb dish. This will be my new go-to indian takeaway. Cant wait to try more dishes. Only downside was the popadoms were crushed/broken on arrival. Delivery driver was friendly aswell.
Have ordered from here several times over the lockdown, and each time it's been superb. Great choice of dishes, prompt delivery, and with a bit more flavour to the dishes than the average Indian takeaway.
We were lucky enough to dine at New Ghandi Indian Restaurant on the second night of it's Covid compliant reopening. Danny was a great and accommodating host and the food was excellent. I had the South Indian Garlic Chicken (hot) and, whilst spicy (as intended), it was so in a delicious and natural way (rather than when spice levels are adjusted by dumping in more chili powder). Would certainly return.
Well what can I say that hasn't been said before about this surprising little family run restaurant... Now I enjoy a good curry and have eaten them the length and breadth of the country and to find one as honest as New Gandhi is a lovely treat to the taste buds. Firstly we were greeted with a warm welcome as we reached the top of the stairs and shown to our table, drink order taken an 2 Kingfisher beers were promptly sat down, the staff were more than happy to give us time to choose from menu and offer assistance to any questions we had. We started with the Paneer tikka and lamb chops both beautifully presented and the flavours didn't let them down either (chops were very tender hmmmm just remembering them makes my mouth water, No joke!!) My partner is a lover of the mild creamy style curry so as I'm happy to share (usually means more for me) we ordered a chicken tikka Shahi bahar and a lamb tikka ceylonese Korma with a fried rice and Peshwari nan. The meat in both was moist succulent full of flavour as were the sauces that you could tell were not full of artificial colours or favouring the rice was very good and the nan was light and very tasty not the usual dough filled with bright pink sweet coconut. An absolute dinning pleasure made even more enjoyable with good chat from the staff/owner Kane. Thank you for a enjoyable evening and keep up the good work.
Ordered a delivery last night and the food was delicious. Arrived promptly and piping hot. Great variety of vegan options, will definitely be ordering again soon 😋
Just been to the New Gandhi, Glasgow as a walk in. Fitted us in on a busy Saturday evening, made us very welcome and didn’t rush us. Food was excellent and they doggy bagged the large portion we couldn’t finish. Excellent food and service, highly recommend.
