City Merchant - Glasgow - Photo album

Wonderful restaurant serving well-presented and delicious Scottish cuisine. We really enjoyed the weekday lunch special which includes an appetizer and a main course. We also added the haggis appetizer. The other appetizers were the apple & root vegetable puree soup, fish soup, mussels. Our mains w
For our first time in Glasgow, we wanted to try haggis and we stumbled upon City Merchant and there was no regret. The time we visited offered the Pre-theatre menu, which provided a decent price for 2 courses. The restaurant served high quality food, with excellent dishes that we ordered being the b
Good seafood, nice/fun atmosphere and good service. I started with the Cullen skink soup (yummy), then had the salmon (excellent!). My husband had the pre-fixe lunch of mussels (delicious and large portion) then the fish & chips (not great, the fish was not very flavorful and the breading was not cr
I had a chef vegetarian special and other guests had fish courses. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and accommodating. A lovely evening in this authentic Scottish restaurant!
Fabulous food .... surprisingly good acoustics ... and very friendly staff.
Great area to shop, stay over and eat and drink, spoilt for choice
Great Turkish food, big portions
Really well presented Scottish game, meat, fish and shellfish which tastes delicious. Good value for money and a decent wine list, also at a good price. A lovely ambience which plays in an understated way on the rural north west coast of Scotland and its meat, game, fish and shellfish heritage. Gre
Good atmosphere and service. Had tasty prawn in garlic starter and an excellent rib eye steak in a great peppercorn source that actually contained lots of peppercorns. All in all highly recommended.
Impromptu dinner before going back to work the next day, and was very pleasantly surprised. Starters, Mussels were lovely and fresh tasting, the Chicken and Lentil terrine was meaty and tasty, with just enough for a starter. Mains, These were equally good, the Pheasant was a nice change to the usu
One of the best restaurants in Glasgow they especially shine with fish dishes. It's certainly not a cheap place but the atmosphere is relaxed, the service warm, friendly and helpful and will reward you with a great dining experience.
Both food and service were amazing, my smoked haddock felt a bit salty in places but that is understandable and isn't a commentary on the cooking. Highly recommend for anyone looking for nice (non-pub) local food.
3 of us went on Saturday evening for the gourmet dinner and had a fantastic meal. Really recommend the hake for main course. Staff very accommodating . Will return next time we visit Glasgow Thanks again
I had a mussels starter, which was absolutely delicious. I then asked to have the Haggis neeps and tatties as a main. Food was excellent, service was friendly and faultless. Would definitely recommend.
Very convenient location. It is focused on fish, but they propose some very good meat and veg alternatives. Last time, the crispy pork belly was great!
