Me and my good friend visited here one night. I and my friend had the Katsu curry with extra rice which was delicious. He had the extraordinary tea as well! This is well worth the visit!

It was a really cold day and I decided to eat something warm. I found this place after did some research on the internet.
This restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the building, with a small entrance.
I ordered a bowl of pork katsu ramen, and I would say that the katsu and the soup itself taste perfect!

Probably the best ramen place in Glasgow. Hearty serving of could-be-hotter broth with proper noodle options. Definitely coming back to try other dishes.

Ambiance and service are good and maybe leaning towards forgetful. If this were in a rotting place with rude (they were not at all) service, I will still dine just for the ramen.

Noodle Nirvana. Not easy to find. This highly regarded noodle bar is on the first floor. It's a spacious brightly lit room with rows of benches. I had the chilli chicken ramen and it was delightful. Piping hot and beautifully presented with lovely strips of char grilled chicken, it really ticked all the boxes. The service was quick and friendly and I'm looking forward to returning soon.

Udon. Now that I'm out of Aberdeen it's no longer a problem, but I used to find myself craving a decent bowl of udon. And anyone flying Ryanair is likely to find themselves in Glasgow- time to visit Ichiban! Just go and try it- there's no good reason not to do so.

I've not been to town in years, but I still dream about this place.

Slainte mhath!

Just go, you won't regret it. Love it... I feel only those words are necessary, Ichiban is a truly magnificent place for those who wish to be a little more adventurous with their dinner. My self and two friends have visited Ichiban on several occasions, and every time we go back the first words out of our mouths are "wow, that's amazing" (we order the same thing EVERY time).

It's a little disconcerting at first when you walk in and realize there are only three big tables in the restaurant which everyone sits at. However when you get past that initial shock it's a fantastic place. I would also highly recommend the floral tea's as an after dinner drink; not to drink just to watch (they are unbelievable, witchcraft is the only way to explain it).

The staff are really nice (They can be difficult to get the attention of) and very talkative.

Overall it's well worth a visit and i would defy anyone to dislike the place.

Good food at a reasonable price. Sushi platter seems a little on the expensive side (10 pieces for £12.50).

I am pleased to say that they are the only noodle cafe that is just like the ones in Tokyo, Kyoto,
The staff are fantatsic, always friendly, always quick, the price is great,

Damn-tasty. Someone said "lack of competition"? No, Glasgow has many Japanese restaurants/cafés, one is even just a few doors away from Ichiban Queen St.
I have been countless times, brought friends who want to try Japanese for the first time, brought my Mum and Dad, went for lunch with college friends, etc.
I can honestly say, I've never been dissapointed. Ichiban holds up well to competition believe me, I've been to most of the other Japanese restaurants in this city!
Wagamama's unfriendly staff and undercooked chicken gyoza put me off, I've never been since. Oko Express is good, but the 'express' part isn't so accurate! Nanakusa, Sapporo and OkSushi are a great experience, but are too expensive to make a regular occurance on my budget, so Ichiban really is number one. Friendly staff, relaxed dining area, it's a great a wee treat.

If Samurai were in Glasgow. They would definetly come here. Been coming here for years. An epic place to eat, definetly the best Japanese in Glasgow. Simply leaves Wagga-Bleurgha standing. Would recommend the Chicken Shyioyaki and beef curry.
Well priced, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and a very amusing statue of a superluckyhypercat. Go along take the girlfriend and impress with your expert use of chopsticks!

Good but there are better. I enjoyed the food here but I have had better Japanese in Glasgow, in better surroundings with better service. Good for a quick meal but I wouldn't choose it for a special night out. I was disappointed that my onigiri didn't have any filling when I ordered the bento box.

Big fan. Adore ichiban: Their seafood soup noodles come highly recommended.

I'd love to see a few more options on the side dishes (steamed goza would go down a treat), and a bit more veg in some of the dishes.

However, that doesn't detract from the great value, great atmosphere and good range of food available. Always fun to see classic cartoons on the tv too.

Reliable Japanese cuisine in Glasgow. A regular haunt whenever we want to eat Japanese cuisine in Glasgow. The setting is basic - open kitchen, long shared tables and benches. The service is always welcoming, the food delicious and the prices very reasonable. Their beef and mushroom rolls are to die for!

Ichiban: We Love You!. Ichiban is what you dream about; a restaurant in Japan, that was simply transported to your hometown. It is one of those places that inspires strange & almost irrational loyalty from its fans. On visiting Glasgow my wife an I will go out of our way to eat there, no matter how inconvenient or unnecessary the visit may be.
It's not very posh, the bench style seating isn't the most comfy and when it's busy it gets incredibly noisy, but the food, oh the food!
The sushi if very good, flavoursome without being over seasoned, the fish speaking for itself. The rice dishes are lovely and as good examples of their type as you'll find in Glasgow, but the stars of the show are the noodles. Be it in delicious, spicy sauces or in my personal favourite, huge bowls of miso soup with vast hunks of meat or fish, the noodles here make you understand why they are the backbone of the Japanese diet. Then of course there is the price, which is fantastic for the quality on display. All in all, the perfect place for a quick bite in the centre of Glasgow.

I go here literally 1-2 times per week. The food is amazing and the menu caters for a wide range of tastes. I've been to a few Japanese styled restaurants in Glasgow but Ichiban is by far the best! Overall great food and excellent staff especially Andy and Simon. 10/10.

Ichiban is great tasting but as for the price, I can't deal with that. I'm a young girl with a small price range for food. If I had enough money I would definitely eat here more but for now I'll just have to deal with the occasional trip. Honestly but f you're willing to splash a bit of cash, here's a great place to do it!

Been here every time I've visited Glasgow. Sushi and Prawn Tempura are simply awesome.

The Japanese cuisine here is just exotic but certainly modified to suit geographically.

Ichiban are hidden upstairs in a pretty unassuming entrance, however reaching the top you are greeted by friendly faces and excellent sushi/bento boxes and more. With Japanese beers that is not just Asahi available, as well as delicious ice cream.

It's easy to walk past this fantastic restaurant because although the entrance is on ground level, it is not immediately obvious - the service is upstairs, with some diners looking down at passers by on the busy street as they eat their delicious sushi. Ive been here a few times recently and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good Japanese food. Only a few minutes walk from Queen Street train station. My favourite is the Bento box as it offers a nice array of food types all in the one meal.

Excellent food and delivered incredibly fast, while also not feeling like you are being rushed. The atmosphere is relaxed and the perfect volume, the seating felt comfortable and something that works great as couples or groups. Easy to book for lunch Sadly no disabled access that I could see; and the restaurant is on the first floor. The food is ££ in price range but the food is expertly delicious and filling, Service is lovely and the servers greeted and checked on us and were very pleasant. Easy to find on Google maps. Pleasant atmosphere with music. The food was swift to be delivered also.

Simple but very tasty food. Katsu was a cutlet over rice with sauce, felt like it could have used some veggies in with. Delicious, but was expecting a little more. Excellent service though.

First time eating here and it was a wonderful experience. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, portions are generous and the food arrives very promptly. Had a great atmosphere too. I would say, if you're looking for a restaurant to sit and relax in a comfy seat, the dining experience here is benches at long tables. Just something to keep in mind if you need a backed chair for comfort.

Simple Japanese Asian fusion menu. Laid back atmosphere with a mixed crowd. Friendly and efficient staff with quick service. Stopped in for a quick lunch and food was out in 5 minutes! Chicken Gyoza was crunchy and the Beef Udon was good. Came to £16 with a drink and service so not bad for the location

The food was excellent. Beautiful space. Feels very private and calm, even though you sit on long communal benches. The nicest sushi place in Glasgow I've been to so far.

My favourite restaurant of all time - I've been eating here for years and never had a bad experience. I can't recommend everything on the menu enough! Reasonably priced, lovely staff, amazing food and great atmosphere. Thank you to the sweet waitress who remembered me once (a good few years ago now) when I was younger and served me my ramen without mushrooms as she remembered I didnt like them! I think they're yummy now, though :)

Had a birthday lunch here, yesterday. Service was excellent and prompt and the food was terrific. Really fresh and tasty, the 3 cooks doing a wonderful job. Bill very reasonable too at just over £60 for 3 mains, 2 sides and 3 drinks. Will definitely come again.

Extremely tasty and a varied menu. In a good location and fairly affordable. Very polite staff and quick too. Didn't have to wait long for food to be served. Is busy but they still had a table for me even though I showed up without a reservation.

It's My first time to have japanese food from a proper japanese restaurant and i am so impressed. The decor is minimal with long dining hall syle tables. The kitchen is open which i like. As for the food.... The flavours were amazing. Spicy, not spicy, sushi, noodles, rice, all the gang is here. My favourite was the tempura prawns. HUGE. The staff were a bit awkward but that was down to the language barrier. I take responsibility for that. I will have to learn how to order. 😉 The variety of interesting food on offer is wide with a good drinks selection too. Wine, beer and Saki included. I have a new favourite food i think.
