Amano Italiano

Stopped in early ish on a Friday evening. Noticed car park not full so a positive start. Entrance is new with porch. Received at the inner door. Asked for a table for 2. after a moment's discussion while they checked we were shown a nice seating area with gas open fire. After a minute or two we were shown to a two seater in a corner. A nicely decorated room and decent seating and space. Menu - a standard Italian with a short range of the usual dishes. Starters, Salads, Pizza, Pasta, Burgers, chicken, dedicated fish section, steaks. We had Minestrone, Pasta Carbonara and a special house burger. One plus point, the waiters were Gluten aware, offered gluten free pasta and spotted the stuffed mushrooms were done in breadcrumbs. Minestrone was delivered and was tasty to a hungry traveller. A short wait and the mains were delivered. After the usual black pepper and parmesan offer we tucked in. Both dishes were nice, tasty, well presented and hot. Waiters were efficient and did not disturb us other then the usual "everything ok". We both agreed everything was ok and although we only had basic unchallenging dishes said we would be back if we needed a restaurant a quick bite maybe next time we would try out other dishes.

Last Friday was my mum's birthday, our first without her as she only passed away in January. My dad, brother, sister and nephew had been to the cemetery and as my mum loved Italian food, we decided to go to Amano, which is just yards away. We hadn't made a reservation and the staff very quickly made a table available to us, the service was great and the food was excellent. We will return under happier circumstances and this time we'll make a reservation!
