My partner and I have eaten here for a number of years and the food is always good and tasty. I have been in alone and they are always pleased to see me, the lemon tea is grt as is the food.

An interesting little discovery i have spent many weeks walking past and wondering about. This cafe is always busy with a mix of clients, many chinese. Low cost lunch and a delicious smell were really not deceiving. I took away a box of salt and pepper chicken with fried rice £4 and im already planning my lunch next week. One of the best Chinese's i have had i a long time. The food takes it's time in coming so you know its being made to order, and it is well worth the wait.
When on my way to catch up on the inspirational work at Glasgow Royal Infirmary’s Intensive Care Unit, I came across Friends Chinese Cafe, on the High Street. I popped in to give it a try. With a lunchtime deal of two courses for £5.50, this sounded like good value to me. Unsurprisingly, the place was busy, with a mix of folks for whom Chinese is the mother cuisine, students, and folks from local offices, including a good few people from the nearby hospital. There was a mix of sit-in and takeaway customers.
This is probably my most favourite little restaurant/cafe shop around. To me it brings a little sense of feel from Hong Kong. The food here are second to none and you do not need to order straight from the menu. You can mix it up a little.
The food not only taste great but they use less oil than other restaurants I go to (of this type), so it's a little healthier. The price is very reasonable to the quantity you get.
Great food, friendly atmosphere and it won't break the bank, Highly recommended. Give it a try, you'll not dissappoint.
This is my favourite Chinese restaurant and considering you get two courses of generous proportions made to order for £5 this must be amongst the best value restaurants in Scotland.

There is a more than adequate selection of courses to chose from. I am a vegetarian and normally opt for Salt & Pepper chips followed by mixed vegetables and I alternate the sauce I choose each visit. All the meals I have tried have always been fantastic. When I visit with my wife our bill comes to about £12 including Chinese tea.
Their trading hours are 10.30 am till 6pm as they are currently awaiting their extended licence.
Be prepared to be impressed!
This hidden gem is great. £5 for 2 courses. A wide range of meals. We had chicken and sweetcorn soup which was full of flavour and warming. Main was chicken and mushroom which was tasty and filling. Service is quick and friendly. There were lot of Chinese people having lunch there also, always a good sign! It is a cafe style, no frills but highly, highly recommended. A must visit.
Great eats, proper authentic HK style 'chaa chan teng' (cafe), you will not be disappointed. I will recommend and definitely be back.
warm, lovely service in a very authentic setting! ordered takeaway and all dishes were delicious, not too salty or oily - value for money is great and love the drink selection too! looking forward to eating in to use the chilli oil on offer :)
This restaurant is arguably the cheapest Chinese food in Glasgow.
I came over for my lunchtime meal and ordered a set menu for £6.50. I chose fries and sweet spicy fried chicken fried rice.
The fries were not too good. The sweet spicy fried chicken was very tasty and the fried rice with egg was also very good.
I like this restaurant and recommend it. But they only accept cash, which makes it inconvenient for me.
Great place. Waitress always remembers our orders and even mixed things up when I wanted something different. Braised beef curry with crispy noodles was one of her ideas,awesome! Management talks to you and takes in ideas,recommendations and feedback. Missus loves this place. She's from Hong Kong and states that there's nowhere in Scotland/UK which serves some of the dishes she likes!

Definitely has an authentic Hong Kong diner look and feel. Ask for the Chinese menu to get HK dishes. I ordered steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables and rice which was delicious, and a generous portion. I also had a HK milk tea which was just ok. Very friendly service. Cash only, though, and there are no cash machines nearby so come prepared.

Just had the best, juiciest Chinese takeaway.... EVER!!! I ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken chow mein, Beef chow mein and vegetable spring rolls. Total price: £15! The photo shows the meals after eating half of them. SO MUCH... great quality food for a great price! Wow!

Amazing food for the price and the quality ! It came out so fast, (in less than 5 mins) and taste so good as well! The amount of noodle I got was insane, I couldn’t even finish it and had to share it with my partner.

Nice staff, amazing, authentic food and great prices! One of the best places to eat in Glasgow. The interior may not be ordinarily Western, but it looks exactly like restaurants in China, which just proves how authentic it is.
