Lovely restaurant. Great location. The welcome was warm and the food magnificent. We were down from Nottinghamshire for the day and next time we're in Gloucester we will return to The Barge.
Wanted to try the Barge restaurant for quite a while, it's got great reviews and it offers homemade desserts etc, got the chance today, Me and the bread knife had stake with vegetables, then I had Homemade Rubarb crumble with custard, wife had vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, overal it's just
What a pleasure to find The Barge in Gloucester which is head and shoulders above the expensive and dull mass catering of most outlets in the docs. A freshly prepared chicken and mushroom dish served with fuelling followed by wine poached pear and ice cream plus a large diet coke all for under 20

A fantastic place for a meal. A hidden gem as they say. Went in one morning for the full English Breakfast. It was so good. Even came with toast.

I booked well in advance a meal for 12.30 on the day I would be visiting places in Gloucester. Having spent as much time as I could at my first place of interest, I checked on-line for The Barge Restaurant and found that they were open. I got there at around 11.00 and was told that lunch might be pr
Very solid vegetarian food. I look forwards to coming again. If you're planning on trying this place, *make sure you check the opening hours*, as they're not always open in the evening. Also, given the small size of the place, it would be good idea to book ahead.
