To give anything other than a 5⭐️ review is ridiculous, the food is of excellent quality and cooked freshly to order. I usually have the Canadian (Brie and cranberry) which is to die for!! However yesterday I had the fiery welsh dragon (cheddar cheese, leeks and Tabasco sauce) which was a triumph!! Friendly helpful staff too! Heartily recommended
First time visiting this morning at it was so good!! Polite staff, lovely view of the docks and the food was super tasty. Will definitely return and I do recommend!!
Just had a amazing ham cheese and beans toastie and now finally had a Mars and banana toastie and it was definitely best on white bread and was so happy with how gorgeous it was and I'm also so pleased when I eat there and the people who work there are always such kind people who you can have a joke with

Delicious fresh made tastiest. My favourite, bacon brie and cranberry. Washed done with the best hot chocolate ever.

Called in today for a Hawaiian toastie and it was delicious , this was my first visit to On Toast and I would definitely go there again! Yes People of Gloucester and Tourists, forget the poncey coffee shops around The Quays, head for On Toast instead !
Tasty toasties on a sunny Sunday, looking out over Gloucester Quays. We had 4 different toasties with drinks for under £24, so we will return.
Ran all the way there and made the last customer that day lol. Hunters was a little sweet but the buttered toast was so delicious. Good portion as well
Small toastie shop tucked away on the water front. You order from the doorway and they have lots of options (good balance of meat and vegetarian, no vegan that I saw unfortunately).
Friendly staff member prepared 4 toasties quickly and they were really good. Tasty, well toasted and packed with fillings - not so much to be tricky to eat though.
Do. Go. Here. Friendly owner makes the best toasted sandwiches with lots of choices. Generous slices of brown or white bread with amazing home cooked fillings, grilled to perfection. Prices are really, really fair.
Unfortunately no chairs outside, but you can easily find a place to sit on the docks or a nearby bench.

Seriously-impressive toasties! I had the Swedish: meatballs, salsa and mozzarella. Very-friendly owner too. Would visit again if I'm ever in Gloucester in the future.
Absolutely stuffed toasties that taste great. Owner is a lovely chap. Would advise calling ahead at lunchtime as it can get very busy.
We have literally just finished our toasties and they were incredible! We’ve walked past many times over the years and will no longer walk past without stopping for some food!

Situated on the far side of the docks but well worth the walk to reach it.
The sandwiches are always hot and the portions generous. Plenty of variety in the fillings. The Hunter's is my 'go to' choice.
Seasonal filings 'appear' throughout the year e.g. Christmas.
Very nice sandwiches, alway freshly made and good customer service and I’m always full afterwards as they are really really good loaded. 10/10 would highly recommend
A very simple concept excellently done. Great range of fillings. Snickers toastie is a great dessert option. Owner very friendly. I'll definitely call again if I'm in the area!
