Nice pub with traditional decor, a warm friendly interior, and barstaff. The beer is excellent and they do food though I have not eaten there. Adequate parking out back, and outside seating available. Well worth a visit.

Popped in for local ale as was overnighting at another place over the River. Was very quiet (was a Wednesday), staff and service very helpful and friendly. Seemed like a good mix of locals and tourists. Would be interested to stay over night next time.

The food here was lovely but not outstanding. The service was OK, it wasn't busy but we had to wait ages for our bill I think the waitress forgot about us. She was very abrupt when we asked some questions about one of the meals, which didn't start the evening off very well.

We had a really great stay at The Hostelrie. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the owners clearly care deeply about delivering a special experience to their guests. The building is full of character and its been very respectfully and tastefully decorated. The room was very comfortable, also very tastefully decorated and everything immaculate. They are dog friendly also and provided bed and bowls for the dog. The food and drink was exceptional - we had two really very nice evening meals and there was one steak main which we enjoyed so much we had to have it again! The breakfast was also very nice. In terms of location it's quite easy to get to from major routes yet its located in a pretty quiet village. You can walk from the door and there are lots of routes you can take over to Symonds Yat and Symonds Yat Rock - we had a really nice days walking. There is also Goodrich Castle just behind which is really interesting and great for kids to explore. Altogether a we had a great experience and if you're looking for a comfortable place to stay with beautiful countryside to explore from the doorstep and wonderful food and drink then I would really recommend booking here.

This is a hidden gem located perfectly for walks along the river wye. With miles of public footpaths The Hostelrie is one not to miss if you are foodie addicts like us. From the room, emenities, bar to food and restaurant, everything met expectations and more. We take our hat off to the couple running this. A perfect retreat for a quick get away and not mention dog friendly.

We stopped off here for dinner after a day on the water. Staff were very friendly and helpful in advising about which meals to eat regarding a nut allergy. They also gave us some directions for a dog walk when we popped in earlier so we could tire the dog out before dinner. We ate outside as the weather was lovely and we had the dog. Food was fantastic, garlic risotto and the cheese burger, both were very tasty. Lovely setting inside, with a good selection of spirits & beers on tap, also with bottles of Hawkstone IPA & Cider, Clarksons latest creation. Overall a lovely evening had by all!

Really, really great staff! Excellent starters, sad dry burger tho…come on…too many pubs not nailing a basic burger is doing my nut in. Uk is used to a very high standard of burger now you can get away with a £16 burger with basic execution. Other mains on the table looked great tho!!

Service and staff were great when we came for a family meal. The Steak was overcooked, and had to recook it was its only fault. Would definitely be back when in the area.

Sunday lunch- delicious. A good choice, nicely cooked vegetables served separately, really good roast potatoes. I was looked after well as gluten free ( given a different starter, which was great) . I really would have loved a gf Yorkshire pudding though. Service was great. Nice atmosphere, good wine.
