The John Barleycorn (the Jb Pub & Rooms) - Goring-on Thames - Photo album

Arrived as a last-minute reservation for a party of 8 for my Pa's birthday dinner. To say we were looked after would be an understatement - we felt welcomed immediately, the staff were impeccable and the food was absolutely delightful. Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening!
A traditional pub in a picturesque English village. Lots of interesting architecture but tall people may have a problem! It has a small beer garden with a layout that is somewhat...random! Has a food menu. Sandwiches were fine but nothing special. Other dishes feel a little pricey for what is propos
Stayed here for 2 nights with my girlfriend and had a very pleasant stay. Richard the landlord was very welcoming, the bedroom and bathroom was very nice and clean. The bar and beer was great, we would happily stay again!
Stayed overnight and the welcome from Richard was warm as was the room. The bed was the most comfortable we have slept in and the bar has a great range of drinks. The JB is an amazing pub and a great place to visit. Thanks Richard and will visit again soon.
This is a charming old pub with low ceilings, good beers, tasty food and a bar billiards table which the landlord was more than happy to show us how to play. We had a brilliant evening. Thank you!
Had a lovely family lunch. Great pub in a beautiful location. The Sunday roast was delicious and a very enjoyble lamb breast. The servce was excellent. Thankyou.
Very nice traditional village pub, with friendly staff and good food. Enjoyed the beer which went down well. Definitely recommend a visit.
Really great pub! I'd visited once before but failed to realise there is a bar billiards table and a pub garden (tbf it was middle of winter and pitch black when I arrived and we sat in the little room on the left which I had no reason to leave all evening). It's a really quirky building with little
Lovely barman ,who was helping out while the new owners get established. Attractive inside decor. Looking forward to returning when they will offer tea and coffee and food. Then I'll give 5 stars.
My boy, 16, and I were pedaling King Alfred's Way and our day three lodging was the JB. Of our four accommodations on the trip, our room above the pub in Goring was the most comfy, well-appointed and just plain pleasant. Richard could not have been more gracious, chatting us up in the early evening,
Cracking little pub with lots of character. The staff are very welcoming and they have a decent enough choice of drinks. We stayed for food on one of our visits. It is typical pub grub and good size portions too. I would return here again without hesitation. Well worth a visit if you are passing th
Really great pint of Ringwood 49er. Richard the new landlord was very welcoming and the pub garden was a tranquil suntrap. Looking forward to the new menu coming out and wish him and his wife all the best in their new venture.
A good unfussy pub, traditional pub memorabilia on show. Popped in for a meal for two and the food service was very quick and hot, simple pub food served well and about right for the price. Traditional billiards table and plenty of nooks and crannies to hide in if you wish. The bar is kept separate
Lovely pub! Great atmosphere & always a warm welcome. Serves good food & great wines 🍷🍻
Going into bar felt like stepping back in time. Friendly landlady and Goring locals. Intimate atmosphere. Dog friendly. Barman gave our dog a dog biscuit. Excellent food... Had the homemade pie, mash and veggies. Good pint of Brakespeares.
Stayed for 1 night. Very welcoming hosts. Cosy room, had both evening meal and breakfast. Best meals I've had in a very long time. Easy to notice that staff and management take pride in this establishment and work together at one. Well done and thank you. Keep it up.
