Family reunion lunch today in the conservatory overlooking the harbour. This is such a great location and the pub feels clean and cool as well as relaxed and comfortable. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. It was quiet in there at lunch time today but -so it was extra nice to have lots of personal attention. I don’t expect we could expect so much when it’s busy.
We all went for the cod and chips with mushy peas -cooked to order and very nice.
I had blackberry Eton mess which is really good without any excessive sugar if you find normal Eton mess sickly.
We thought the beer was good and there are lots of different drinks to choose from.
The ladies loos were very well looked after and clean. There’s an easily accessible but private extra loo right by the conservatory for less mobile customers. All in all we couldn’t find anything to grumble about the opposite in fact.
Also, In the evenings it’s a lovely place to sit and have a pint watching it grow dark over the harbour.
Went there for a Sunday roast which was absolutely superb. We both had the pork belly roast which was priced at roughly £15 each and it was cooked to absolutely perfection. The roast potatoes and gravy were delicious as were the vegetables and the portion size was very generous. The pork was soft and just melts in your mouth, the crackling was easy to eat and not too hard on your teeth. The staff were extremely polite and attentive and the pub is very well kept with a warm and friendly atmosphere which also is dog friendly. Will definitely be going back for another roast soon and I would highly recommend to those that are looking for a great Sunday roast.
Nice pub close to the water with fabulous views, catering for eating & drinking in this large pub with outside space and car park at the rear.
LOVELY little waterside pub with lots of charm. Food was interesting and also offers vegan alternatives. Outdoor tables or indoor with still great views! Very clever to put the check in an old book! Do recommend you try!
Popped in for Sunday Lunch today. Both myself and my husband had Roast beef. It was absolutely delicious. Super tender, very flavoursome and the veggies were good too. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely recommend and we will be back. Also great playlist in the background 👌

A nice roast, actually, lovely meat, potatoes, but veggies guys, dry, get some butter on those carrots? lovely views, staff a bit grumpy, but it was a Sunday? Still, id go back if I was in the area
First time I've been back here in nearly a decade - not sure if it's been taken over or had a refurb since then, but the difference is incredible. Fantastic service, lovely atmosphere and location overlooking the solent, and the food was excellent- the ceasar salad was so good I've been comparing every subsequent one I've had, and nothing has come close so far!
There with the band and it was an amazing atmosphere!!
Not sure on the food as we didn't eat.
Today was our first visit to the Jolly Roger and we had an excellent Sunday Roast. Perfectly sized portions served hot to the table. We will be back there again soon
Really great find. Lovely pub food, very friendly staff and fantastic views of the harbour. There's a patrons carpark which is handy too. We'll certainly be coming back.
