Proper pub, one of few left in the area. Just grab a beer, sit down and have a good old natter. Jukebox, dart board, pool table, fireplace, cheap beer, what more do you want?

The greatest landlady in this pub's auspicious history offers an unspoiled drinking venue with a remarkable lineage. The yard of ale is yet to be conquered but a fine selection of draft ales awaits any thirsty passer-by. A drinker's pub with a fully loaded juke box offering a warm welcome to all.

This has recently changed hands, (10/23) with the new owners looking to add a new food menu along with a possible reinstatement of the previously successful beer and cider festival.

Great little village Pub. Simon the landlord keeps the beer in tip top condition. He is so much better than the last one who ran it into the ground.

The pub is under new management, and the changes are simply brilliant. The decor and furnishings really nice and the beers superbly kept and served. At the time of my visit the kitchen was closed but I will return as soon as possible to sample the fare on offer. A wonderful little gem of a proper pub.

Popped in tonight at gone 8.00pm on the off chance that we could have a bite to eat and a couple of drinks. We were welcomed by the friendly staff who quickly found us a table. Jonny served us and he was absolutely brilliant ensuring we had everything we wanted and really made the evening enjoyable. The chef Nikki (of Nikki’s Kitchen) cooked us a wonderful meal which included an extremely tasty homemade steak and ale pie and the most tender lamb shank...simply divine! We also had a dessert courtesy of Jonny’s Cheesecakes, which was the perfect end to a fantastic meal. The atmosphere was brilliant and exceeded our wildest expectations. If I could give 10 stars I would! Thank you everyone at The Blue Dog we look forward to seeing you all soon. Michael & Helen

Very impressed with the quality of the food that was served but far more blown away by the cost, a very reasonable and tasty Sunday lunch. I suspect we'll be back - thankyou for a lovely lunch!

Just my sort of pub. Cosy, with plenty of facilities and pleasant people. The beer festival is also a must-go! This little pub has a bit of everything: darts, pool table, television, radio, jukebox, pub grub, fantastic drinks, live entertainment, pétanque court, beer terrace, smoker's shelter, parking and a fire place. A proper pub with great facilities. Definitely gets the thumbs up.
