Always have dinner once a year on my our annual lake district visit. Lovely food & service, encouraged us this time to bring our dog and she was treated to a fresh bowl of water and some bacon.

Visited this restaurant with family (5 adults) for dinner on the 25th February 2022 and we are so glad we did... it was a fantastic meal.

Awesome (fellow) Scottish chef (except he actually sounds Scottish unlike me). He somehow made a vegetable broth taste as good as a Scotch Broth (it was great). I then had the Cajun salmon, which was excellent and then a tiramisu. The tiramisu I make at home is nice, but his was the food equivalent
Absolutely delicious home cooked food. Everything is so fresh and cooked to perfection, me and my partner came here two nights out of the three we stayed in Grasmere and wish we went more! Fantastic food and excellent service. Great menu choices and small select wine list. Simple but very effective. Chef’s special (ostrich) was outstanding.
Chicken stuffed with haggis in whiskey sauce was delicious, finally found proper Cumberland sausage on a menu and it didn't disappoint. Thanks, will be back when next in area.
This place is great. I would have oven this place a beyond 5 stars if I could. The food is home cooked and reasonably priced. My family and I stopped by for a snack but ended up ordering more and more dishes because the food was so delicious. For 4 people, the total was 40 pounds and let me tell
