Really lovely stay on a Sunday night after hiking Helm Crag. Excellent location at Grasmere. Sunday lunch was still being served so we thoroughly enjoyed that. Breakfast the following morning was equally enjoyable. The room was very comfortable and a restful nights sleep was had. We would definitely
Stopped for a coffee after our hike. Friendly and welcoming. Comfortable and clean. Traditional style. The coal fires were lit, so it was lovely and cosy. Dogs are welcome, too. Very nice atmosphere. I'll definitely be returning.
Only sharing on my experience of a post walk beer, so can't comment on food or service. Classic old pub, feels independent, good beer selection, 4 at my visit. I arrived pre dinner so plenty of staff, but every table was booked so that's a good sign. And locals came in to eat, so same. My lakes
Popped in for Dinner one evening whilst staying in Grasmere. A nice little tidy restaurant. Owners were lovely and the food was brilliant. Parking wasn't a problem either. Thanks so much.
Favourite pub to go to after a day out on the fells. On this occasion we visited after completing the coffin route/ Rydal caves circular walk. We called in for our usual cheesy chips and a pint of coke. Staff are brilliant. Food is served very quick. Definitely recommend.
Great Sunday dinner. Thoughtful and helpful staff. Yummy food, good portions. Thoroughly recommended.
Didn't try the food but the Guinness and wine were good but the real star of the show is the location and stunning mountain views. Food did look nice as there were a lot of people dining
A good selection of Beers and Lager. Very welcoming atmosphere. The Lamb Hotpot is amazing. Food arrived hot and well presented.
Had a 4 night stay, all the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and warm. The food is amazing, you have to try the steak and kidney pudding.
Planned this stop months ago on my roadtrip up through the Lakes and on into Edinburgh. Perfect half way (roughly) stop for lunch, incredible scenery, fantastic staff, great food and a great pint. Highly Recommend this place for a stop on your roadtrip journey through the lakes.
