We go back to Grasmere time and time again and never venture further than Tweedies for food and drink! Great bar, great food, great staff and great beer! Who needs more!

Fabulous place. The staff are excellent. A great selection of beers, lagers, ciders and loads of other things. We ate there 2 nights running too and the food was great as well. Will be back (in fact next weekend!). Brilliant.
Went here today for lunch.. the staff were so friendly one of the bar men Sam greeted us with a wonderful smile and made us really welcome.. the food was totesamazeballs and will definitely be going back . Great food great staff great selection of beers and the views wonderful �

We love it here every time we come back to the lakes we have to call in for a pint or two. Great selection of beers, lovely food and staff are so friendly too. We have just got home from a week in grasmere and everyday after a walk we called in for a pint.

We called in today after a lovely walk with our 2 dogs, the staff were so welcoming and our dogs were served water and treats before us! It was very busy but we were told we could sit at the bar, we ordered food which was delicious and will definitely be coming back again. Thank you ��
Definitely a place I would recommend for lunch if you are visiting, it seems relatively unnoticed so nice and quiet too (unlike the other places on the main walkways with much less appetising food). It's also somewhere I wouldn't mind visiting for a pub dinner or if you're wanting something a bit more formal then why not try the hotel attached. The food on the menu looks pretty good, if you have tried the Dale Lodge Hotel let me know as I'm intrigued to know if it is as good as it sounds.
We stopped in the Mews over the weekend and it was very well presented and clean. Hot tub was big and warm. Views were spectacular.
Food was to die for. We have the burger and the lamb and it was such a high standard. All drinks at the bar were great. The Friday night atmosphere was vibrant. Live band. All staff friendly and welcoming. We are coming back without doubt!!
What a find of a hotel. The rooms are so comfortable, spotless and lovely natural products in the bathroom. We had a lovely room over looking Grasmere. The food in the bar was lovely, would definitely recommend the smoked ploughman platter as a starter.
One of the best pubs in Lakland! We called in at lunchtime with our two dogs after a very wet hike. Great selection of real ale and stout served by very friendly and efficient bar staff. We didn't eat here but the food looked delicious. Highly recommended 👌
Great Saturday afternoon vibe with good food and drink. Guys behind the bar were great 👍 although trying to charge me a million pounds 🤣 unsurprisingly it didn't authorise, thanks for a great afternoon all.
Amazing place to stay the decor was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was fantastic in a beautiful dining area with a wood burning stove.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was superb.
All in the incredibly beautiful village of Grasmere.

Everything in the hotel was excellent. The room was amazing and a bit quirky (in a good way), the bed was huge and comfortable, the staff were brilliant, the breakfasts were superb and the location was spot on. We even had brilliant weather!
Had a great couple of meals here. Service was friendly and fast. Puddings were amazing and their list of cask ales were impressive. Wish I could have tried them all. Highly recommend!
We popped in here for lunch whilst on a quick visit to buy gingerbread in Grasmere.
Came with friends who were on their first ever visit to the Lakes. They are in hospitality and loved the opportunity to talk to the friendly and helpful staff, menu had good amount of choice. Fab winter warmers, we chose rarebit, Rosti,and a good old chip butty.
Great selection of beers and good coffee as well. Also dog friendly (like most places in the Lakes).

Tweedies Bar and Lounge came highly recommended by friends, especially for their burgers, so we were excited to give it a try. However, our experience was a bit mixed, and it didn't quite live up to our expectations.
We ordered the much-talked-about burger, hoping for a flavorful and juicy delight. Unfortunately, what we received felt rather compact and appeared to be more on the processed side. The taste, too, didn't quite match the rave reviews we'd heard. We couldn't help but wonder if the football match being on might have affected the quality of the food that day.
On a more positive note, we decided to try the fish and chips, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The dish had a nice flavor and was enjoyable.
Despite the initial disappointment with the burger, we believe in giving places a fair chance. It's possible that our visit coincided with an off day, especially with the football match going on. We would be willing to return to Tweedies Bar and Lounge for another try, hoping to experience the food at its best. Sometimes, even the best places have their off moments, and we're hopeful that the next visit will leave a more lasting positive impression.

This was the second time we visited, and the food was just as delicious. We had the meat sharing platter, and it was worth every penny! High quality food and the plate was really well portioned. The bar staff were welcoming and friendly. There was a roaring fire which was definitely appreciated with the wet and stormy weather outside. Good choice of local ales 🍺

I'm sure we will be returning next year, I would go out of my way to visit for lunch and experience that meat platter again!
We had a lovely stay at this comfortable and beautiful hotel. After an unexpected upgrade and a friendly welcome we explored the quaint village of grasmere, seeing wonderful bespoke jewellery and watercolours alongside very affordable country attire. We would also highly recommend the food served in the attached bar as it was extremely tasty and presented with flair. Definately worth a look.
A three night break in Grasmere. Wonderful location. Lodge ‘quiet’ in off season. Very cozy. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfasts.

Good news for drivers of EV’s. Two 22Kw chargers 🔌 in public car park opposite the hotel and even better news staff at Tweedies confirmed they are getting 2 x 🔌 installed in the not too distant.
