Nice food, great location. The food was quite good, if a little pricey. The location was pretty incredible (if a little out of the way).

Just back from a few days in this gem of a place.... didn't want to leave. Amazing location and great walks on your doorstep and the gardens and views were stunning. Our room was lovely with the bonus of a bath which was great after a good walk. Great breakfast and Evening meal of a high standard. Lounge with open fire was perfect with a glass of wine. Staff were lovely and we have got to give a special thanks to Katrina { hope i got this right}. She was a joy to be around and looked after us, a great host. Will be back next year.

Fantastic 2 night stay at this beautiful hotel. The welcome and service we received was outstanding. Katrina and Co were fantastic and made our stay more welcoming. The food was delicious, and the breakfast to evening meal was a delight. The rooms were clean and very spacious with spectacular views of the fells. The bar was welcoming and the lounge cosy with an open fire to enjoy whilst enjoying a glass of wine or two. I'm definitely staying again in the summer 10/10

Just used their non resident parking deal and did an 11km circular hike. Then redeemed my parking fee in their poets bar. Great place to start and finish our hike, and nice to have a drink at the end.

Our 2nd visit for my partner's birthday. Katrina and Serene have been amazing and friendly even if you travel solo you would feel at home here. Perfect location with views for miles and walks on your doorstep. Having a hot meal to look forward to that whatever we have had has been delicious. A great accidental find our first time round but we will be coming back many more times to come

Paid for overnight parking. Called in this morning for coffee and mince pie, both were absolutely delicious. However the most amazing part was being served by GeeGee. Wow that girl is amazing and an absolute treasure, if I had a hospitality business I would steal her from you. She gave us a tour of the hotel, we now want to book because of her. Cannot say enough good things about her.

Booked two rooms for a night August 2023. We all had a really wonderful stay and wanted to stay longer. The staff were great, easy to get hold of (despite reviews here indicating otherwise) and quickly addressed a couple of things we needed. We booked Sequoia and Azalea and each room was quite different. Azalea was accessed by a number of steps and was more of a traditional room , very nice large chairs and a private outdoor table and chairs. Sequoia was in the barn and had very easy access as it is ground level right next to the bar. It had an additional single bed to our pleasant surprise which is not shown in the website pictures. This suited our daughter perfectly. This room would be good if you had a dog too. Only minor issue was a bad smell in the bathroom, maybe a prior water leak. Staff took the feedback onboard. Location and views are superb. Overall an excellent hotel - you won’t be disappointed.

We arrived after a long trip from the Scottish Borders and were greeted immediately by a smiling and welcoming team. Laura and Serene. Settled into a great clean and homely room after being offered a choice and immediately settled in with a cuppa out on the terrace. Had a lovely dinner after a fresh pint of bitter - nice cooking and then great quiet sleep. Nice full breakfast followed by a brisk walk up to Easedale Tarn. I loved the setting and the woodland with its ponds which felt full of spirit and magic. Spend some time with the amazing trees which have been there for over 150 years. The service remained great. Simon ( the owner) then graciously showed us around. The big reveal - a stupendous upper room in the barn. Go see it ! Great for wedding events and beautifully crafted and built. This would be a magical place for that special day. Sad to leave after the second night. We were the only guests in that day but had good attention and a lovely send off. The Wright family have worked wonders. Thank you !

I kind of want to keep this review to myself... This place is a little known secret of the Grasmere area. Fabulous views, cozy rooms, chef inspired dinner menu, and right on the most popular trails in the area! What more can you ask for? ... "Knock me down hot shower after a long walk", you say? ✔️ Check! A handy tea room? Check ✔️ A bar with views of Easedale? Check ✔️ I'm not telling you my ❤️ favorite room - I'm keeping that to myself!! The breakfast is efficient and you can relax in the spacious lounge is the weather isn't playing fair. In the winter months, the fire is lit in the Lounge. All this away from the crowds and extremely quiet. At risk of saying too much and revealing how awesome this place is, I'll end this review now 😉

This was such a great find! Located off the beaten track (at least for those not hiking), was a wonderful place with delicious small bites and drinks. Hikers come and go, cats purring around, very dog friendly and very attentive team! 5/5! Was exactly what we were looking for to get cosy and chill. Does have rooms too which looked fantastic but didn’t stay (maybe next time!!).
