The Glass House Cafe - Grasmere - Photo album

A tea garden located in one of the busiest parts of the village with an outside terrace by the river overlooking the Oswald Church. That's why they seemed to always be very busy and full. It would be a perfect place to take a break or quick bite to eat if they could improve their food. The sandwiche
One of the best spot to enjoy your coffee and a sandwich. They have a really cute outdoor space right on the river with a view of the church and a bridge. Food was average, however staff is really helpful and service is quick.
The hot apple cinnamon is delightful with a slice of lemon cake. The views of the gardens and water is something out of a Woolworth poem. Oh wait, he happens to be buried right around the corner.
Quick and friendly service and good value. Nice seating inside but also a patio area next to the river.
Nice little cafe with a great riverside terrace. We opted to sit inside the spacious and airy dining area to stay warm but the terrace was still busy and I can imagine is an amazing place to stop for lunch in the nice weather. We were greeted quickly at the door and chose our table. After ordering
Vegetarian Panini and Potatoes were good.
Absolutely loved the place, is located so nicely beside a river which makes it more enjoyable having a quick bite and drink in the garden. The staff is very nice and welcoming, the food and drinks are very good as well and not expensive either. If your travels take you to Grasmere have a stop and yo
Nice little place to grab a hot drink or bite to eat. Has a mixture of sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and some sweet foods. Nice little outdoor seating area too with views of the stream. They also sell some beers.
Love the fact that it is dog free. It is so hard to find anywhere, especially in the Lake District, which isn't full of dogs, the problem seems to get worse every time we visit. Lovely tea and cake, beautiful situation, spotlessly clean toilets too.
The tea gardens have a lovely, heated outdoor terrace beside the river with great views across to St Oswald's church and the graveyard where Wordsworth is buried. The service was friendly and quick, and the food very tasty if not a bit pricey. I'd definitely recommend it as a pleasant place to take
