Really enjoyed having Sunday lunch here. The food was delicious, with a great range for everyone. The black pudding tower starter was delicious, and the lamb was cooked to perfection.
The pub has recently been refurbished to a high standard, and the outdoor terrace appears to be a sun trap.
Perfect secure play area for children which has a grassed area, sand pit, playhouse and mud kitchen, something which a lot of other pubs seem to lack these days.
Dog friendly, indoors and out with water station available.
The staff are warm and welcoming. Nicole is also an asset to the team and has been really friendly and recommended a delicious gin that is now a firm favourite.

What a great meal we had when we were celebrating our Grandsons 24 birthday last week! A very warm welcome coupled with newly refurbished interior leads to an excellent meal .

Had Sunday lunch here and the food was delicious, hot and well presented. The staff were friendly and welcoming and helpful.the restaurant was comfortable and well set out with plenty of room between tables.
Great place for Sunday lunch. Reasonable prices. Great service. Lovely setting. But why no cauliflower cheese 🤔.

Sharon and Ade run a great pub loads of great food at reasonable prices and a huge selection of ales and lagers.
Be under no illusion this pub is great, and has undergone a massive refurbishment and a brilliant place to eat and drink, come along and you will not be disappointed.
Visited The Red Lion at Great Chatwell on Saturday 08 July 2023 ,for the first time since Ade and Sharon refurbished and reopened it a few weeks ago.
Ade is a keen real ale fan and is keen to stock a range of real ales ,including a guest dark real ale . We had the pleasure of sampling a lovely pint of the Timothy Taylors Landlord Dark, costing only £4.00 a pint .
A large rear room gives plenty of space of space for dining . We are sure to return to taste some of Sharon's superb cooking .

Red Lion, Great Chatwell. We went for Sunday lunch yesterday. We had one lamb and one beef. Wow! The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic. We will DEFO go back.
9 of us had Fathers Day Dinner and all was absolutely fantastic! Great Food, amazing quality beer in a friendly clean and welcoming environment
Good pub food, friendly staff with good service.
Quite close to several fishing pools, also Camping sites close by.
We will be returning.
New management, lots of plans for improvements.
