The Hampden Arms

Sunday evening meal on 20th August, myself and a friend. A lovely old-fashioned pub, small and friendly. The staff are friendly and attentive. We had the roast lamb (from Sunday roast lunch menu) and the fish and chips. After eating out at various pubs in the Tring area, this was by far the best meal in terms of quality, taste, and portion size. Tasty tender lamb served with a Yorkshire pudding, thick-cut roast wedges, gravy, mint sauce, and a big dish of seasonal green veg. I struggled to finish it all. The fish was covered in crispy batter, and the chips were cooked 'properly'. Prices are reasonable too. Would definitely recommend, and will go back myself. We did a walk beforehand which was great too, lovely area to visit.

Had a lovely lunch here with my wife and two little children, really friendly staff and great atmosphere for mother's Day. The food was really good, very tasty, simple honest home cooked food, clearly with quality ingredients. Portions were large, so you won't go hungry. Roast Beef was particularly good. Try and save some space for the sticky toffee pudding... Good value too! We will be back!

Excellent, unpretentious and ever-so-friendly pub/restaurant. We went on Good Friday....and thanks to lovely weather sat in their garden, which is HUGE and dog-friendly. The food is mediterranean in style, ample choice and served in a timely and efficient manner. All staff were helpful and very cheery. We had a variety of dishes, including halloumi, avocado and tomato salad, all of which were yummy.
