We started this sunny Sunday with a vegetarian breakfast at Matildas. I had the full veggie breakfast and my husband and children all created their own combinations from the extensive breakfast choices - a great idea. The service was friendly, the food was delicious and it was a lovely way to start the day. I am really impressed that they are extending their range of vegetarian and vegan options too. Really good. Recommended.

Mum & I had the pleasure of going to Matilda's yesterday and wow what a find. Warm, clean, modern cafe/restaurant with plenty of choice. I had a chilli jacket potato which came with a side salad and coleslaw, it was lush and a great size. Mum had a ham omelette, perfectly cooked & light, with chips(which were even better than Wimpy chips!). jacket £5.95, Omelette etc £6.95. Tea just £1.95 each. We came from Aylesbury to Missenden for another reason, but we would be travelling back JUST for Matilda's! Fantastic and well worth every penny!

It takes a little time to get your food because everything is cooked from fresh but definitely worth the wait! The breakfast we had was AMAZING! And the espresso coffee also good. Very happy

We had a great night here! Matt and I took the kids (age 6,8 and 9) out for dinner in Missenden and came across Matilda's. Sev and the staff were fantastic! The food was amazing, so fresh and really delicious. Highly recommend! Our youngest child wants to move here so this is our new local restaurant!! Definitely worth a visit!

What an amazing cafe. Clean, plenty of choice, including kids options and affordable. Eating at tea time with hungry young boys, we enjoyed a delicious meal. Kids were delighted with dessert options and the yummy option of smoothies and milkshakes. All reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were very friendly.

Been here a few times, waiters are always friendly. We had the avocado toast, which was very nice, came quickly and was reasonably priced. Matilda approved. 👍🏻

A fellow Parish Councillor and I held our monthly 'surgery' here recently for an hour or so late on a Saturday morning, as an alternative to holding it at the library. The team were welcoming, friendly, attentive and upbeat. Pretty much every table inside and outside was occupied, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere.

Thank You! What a wonderful place, we walked in on a busy Friday lunchtime as we were taking 4 children to the Roald Dahl museum at the other end of the High Street. One of the children noticed the name and was desperate to have lunch in there. As expected it was full apart from two 2 seater tables. Just as we were explaining to the children the need to try somewhere else the staff quickly jumped in and moved the two tables together making room for us. The service and food was excellent and in our opinion value for money. The museum is excellent, so will most definitely be returning and Matilda’s will be our first place for lunch again. Thank you for your kindness it made our day 🌟

Lovely clean efficient friendly café in Great Missenden. Great simple fare at reasonable prices after a walk; I had omelette, salad and chips and my son had beefburger and chips (c.£20). Service by Amber and her colleague was attentive and excellent. Chris B

Fabulous café. Almost full when I visited on Sunday lunchtime. Immediately welcomed and not hassled. Food and drink were served pleasantly and promptly. I had Eggs Royale which was simply splendid. Perfect poached eggs! I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and shall definitely return sometime. The only negative point was some funereal background music. If you're in the area give yourself a treat!

A nice place overall, will return. Food was nice but as others have said it comes out in dribs and drabs. For example one child had eaten nearly all their meal whilst me and my other child’s food hadn’t even arrived yet! Also felt It is quite pricey. A few small tweaks and this will be worthy of the 5 star. Love that well behaved dogs are allowed too!

Excellent table service and very speedy delivery of our order. The portion of carrot cake was rather disappointing. Perhaps the BREXIT carrot shortage was to blame. 🥕
