This is the second time I’ve used this place. The first time was OK, but tonight it was outstanding! Not greasy at all. The fish tasted really fresh and just lovely. I will be going back!
I have tried a few fish & chip shops in Chelmsford and this is the best! Good crispy batter, not too greasy, fish cooked through and flakey. Chips crispy with a fluffy centre. Will definitely come back.
OMG. Easily the best fish and chips I've had since living in Essex for over 20 years. I'll be returning soon as much better than anywhere else I've tried in Chelmsford or Southend
Friendly staff, short wait during peak times and amazing quality food.
Had an order for 7 people and hadnt pre ordered which was a mistake as had to wait a good while. I would definately pre order next time as they seem to have a lot of delivery drivers and phone orders so walk in is last in line. Food was really tasty only reason not 5 star is that my piece of large cod was the thinnest piece I have had in a long while and mostly batter.
Did a click and collect it was our 1st time great service 👍
Delicious. Had gluten free fish and chips from here for the first time. Not cheap, but worth every penny. 100% recommend. Just a shame g/f only available Mondays and Tuesdays. Hubby had ordinary fish n chips, very tasty too.
Amazing quality, friendly service. Possibly the best chips in Chelmsford. Once the chips were cold, but they replaced them with no quibble. I don't eat meat/ fish but their vegetarian/ vegan options are great. I strongly recommend this place (but obviously I have no knowledge of the 'plaice'!)
I hadn't been able to drive for a while so when I was fit enough it was time to get my 90 year old auntie the fish and chips she loves. The lunchtime senior cod and chips was really lovely and just the right amount for a smaller appetite. The cod was crispy battered and tasted devine. As always the chips were devine. Thanks Churchill's - a reunion with my aunt with fish and chips. What could be better??
Just enjoyed another delicious fish "n" chip supper. Ordered online for home delivery and it arrived on time, still hot and a good sized portion. I have ordered from here before and will definitely be using again, great tasting food and great service.
Wow. Had the gluten free cod, chips and curry sauce. I cant express how much i enjoyed the meal as it was well worth the travel for. They did not have a large cod but i was not let down by the piece i had. The fish was lovely. The chips was devine and the curry sauce was amazing. Not had curry.sauce in 9 years due to onion and i finally had one and it didnt dissapoint. Deffernatly will be back again soon. 😊
As usual we were all excited to hear that we were getting take out from Churchills! 4 of us had the usual generous portions of delicious crispy fish and yummy chips. I felt like something different and ordered a yummy cheeseburger which was juicy and popping hot. All orders got 10/10
They do a nice burger. Reasonable price for the quality also. Very tasty. Its a nice shop and the staff are very good. Definitely a good shop.
Ordered a medium cod & chips on 27/02/2018, the service was rapid and efficient. The fish and chips itself were absolutely delicious and I will definitely be recommending this fish and chips outlet to all my friends and family. Excellent food and great staff, what more could you ask for!
Had an issue with our order on Saturday but the staff were so helpful and kind in resolving it fantastic service and great food ! Will definitely return for food again soon 👍
