Unbelievable food and service in the cafe. Hugo and the team go out of their way to ensure you have the best of all they have offer, all at reasonable prices. The portions are to die for. Well nourished we then spent 3 hours in the Tide and time museum. Be sure to put on you list of places to visit in Yarmouth. Jim M, Norwich.

If you haven’t visited yet then this place is a must! I grew up in the area the cafe is situated, and I can remember when the building used to be a herring curing works in the 1970’s/80’s before it was turned into the Time and Tide museum, this area holds a special place in my heart. Myself and friends popped in for lunch, I had a egg mayonnaise baguette which was topped with onions, lettuce and peppers, it was absolutely delicious. I ordered a latte which came with a sample piece of coffee and walnut cake. I cannot recommend this cafe enough, every time I have been the food is so fresh and delicious. My bill came to £6 which is such good value. If you are looking for somewhere welcoming then you really must try here, you won’t be disappointed!

You couldn’t say it is a full English breakfast, but it is the best in Great Yarmouth. Lovely atmosphere, in an old traditional part of the Time and Tide museum, scrupulously clean with amazing staff. Food is well cooked and presented, with quality ingredients to match. Other food available all day, with absolutely amazing cakes !,, Highly recommend this to anyone.

We discovered this place today after our visit to the Time and tide museum and we were amazed. Really kind and helpful staff. We both order a main course, the portions were generous and the food was excellent. Also had a coffee and a slice of cake, heaven! Highly recommend this place. Definitely worth to stop by.

This modest cafe is situated next to the time and tide museum and as you approach the entry there are some chalkboards hinting that this is more than just a cafe. Portuguese wines featured on the list amongst many other items not usually found in smaller cafes. We just wanted a light snack and opted for homemade leak and potato soup and a cup of tea. The soup was served, not with a British round roll but in Portuguese fashion with a warm loaf, sliced and served in a basket along with spreadable herby butter plus some olived. The soup was the best homemade soup I have had when out. If we were staying, not just visiting Yarmouth we would have returned for a main course. Jessica our attentive waitress filled us in with how this little gem developed. If you want somewhere different and special for refreshments, rush around to this place. Check opening times first. Parking is just across the road in Blackfriars.

Cheeky little mid afternoon lunch was a great surprise as we only dropped in with our grandson of four to see the adjoining Time and Tide museum. We opted for the fish platter sharer which was very nice, and the cheesey linguine for the little boy which was very much appreciated, as was the play area in the corner of the cafe. Staff were lovely, so a resounding success!

Half way through our journey around the HUGE Time & Tide Museum we decided to eat at Silver Darling. I’m have health problems and wasn’t sure what I’d be able to eat. Their waitress, who told us proudly she’d worked there for over three years! Was so patient and talked me through different things I might not have thought of. I’d asked for the cheese linguine but cheese on the side. Nothing was too much trouble. Cannot praise this little gem high enough. You do NOT have to go to the museum to use the Silver Darlings. Try it!

We visited this excellent cafe today before going into the Time and Tide Museum and enjoyed proper coffees and delicious scones with jam, butter and clotted cream in very generous portions. Especially nice to enjoy “real” butter rather my pet hate of pre wrapped portions. Good value and we shall certainly return to try some of the lunch dishes. Nothing wrong with good old Great Yarmouth’s seafront offerings, but this is something else!

While waiting for car to have its mot I was given the tip of coming to this hidden cafe and wasn't disappointed! Great menu, cooked fresh breakfast and delightful waiting staff especially Jessie. Pleasant ambience with exposed beams and stone floor. Highly recommended and this will not be my last visit. Wonderful!

I can recommend this cafe, great food, good prices and great service. Opposite the Time and Tidy museum, if in the area then well worth a visit.

Wonderful food, Everything fresh and hot great portion size. And staff are excellent too. Have dined here several times and it has always been first class. The omelette and chips is epic, The jacket potato mouth watering and the chicken is stunning. Not to mention the Amazing Portuguese Artisan Bread which is so Moreish, the environment is very relaxed and really cosy., I cannot recommended this place highly enough. By far the best eaterie in town

We had a lovely lunch here today, the food was delicious and cooked to order so lovely and fresh. The kids (9 & 11) ate off the children's menu (as it was meant to be a light lunch) and were surprised they had plenty. My mum and I shared whitebait and each had delicious home made chips. Would highly recommend.

I am a lactose intolerant vegetarian and often find it difficult finding things to eat for a quick lunch. I was pleasantly surprised at the choice on offer at Silver Darlings. I had the Roast Pepper and Carrot soup served with lovely bread and vegan butter. To finish I had an excellent vegan chocolate cupcake. My tea was served with soya milk but I was offered the choice of almond or cashew milk as well. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful about special dietary needs. Would definitely revisit when in Great Yarmouth, even if not going to the museam.

A birthday treat from my daughter. A trip to the museum with lunch thrown in. Started with elevenses in Silver Darlings, a quick look round the museum, very interesting, and then back to the restaurant for lunch. Excellent prawn linguine. When in Great Yarmouth will certainly visit again.

The tea and cakes were lovely. The Time and Tide museum give you a 10% off voucher for use in the cafe if you pay for entry to the museum. You do need to spend more than £15 in the cafe to qualify for the discount though.

Started off with morning coffee and cake before visiting the excellent museum and enjoying a real Punch & Judy show. Food looked so good we decided to stay for lunch afterwards. Best meal we had in 3 days in Gt Yarmouth. Delicious, thoughtful extra touches, lovely staff.
