We ate here on the evening we arrived. We got there to find theyhad closed a few minutes before, however while looking through the window at the prices the lady came and opened the door and told us they had some chips and battered sausage left if we wanted them we were more than grateful for this after a almost 5 hour drive and even gave our dogs half a sausage each. We went there the next evening for our meal too as the prices were very good and the large cod and chips is exactly that with the fish being around the same length as a 1.75 L bottle of coke.
Our party had a cod, haddock and chips this evening with generally favourable reviews.
One said everything was perfect, both fishes being lovely, fresh and moist, the other would have preferred a more crispy, less oily batter (FYI beef dripping is used for frying) and the chips were generally top notch.
The price was very reasonable, as expected for the area.
Staff were lovely and friendly too.... bear in mind cash only payment, parking is available outside.
We were on holiday last week and decided to try here. I am so glad we did. I found the food very nice for a very reasonable price too. The size of a medium fish was very decent and filling. The lady serving was very nice and knew her regulars which was lovely to see. Regulars means decent good food 👍
I will definitely visit again when in the area.

First time using this chip shop and I’m glad I did…. So many chip shops in the area it was hard to decide what one to go for and I’m really glad I chose Doggers Plaice.
The lady who served me and my family was absolutely fantastic, friendly, patient and a credit to the establishment, really big portions of chips and the fish was very reasonably priced for such a large portion.
Keep doing what your doing Doggers Plaice I’ll be back soon!

This has got to be the best value fish & chips I've ever had. The piece of cod I had was absolutely huge and tasted amazing. The portions of nuggets and fish pieces were extremely generous and they don't skimp on the chips either!!
The service was superb and the food tasted incredible. You'd expect to pay top prices for such an amazing meal but this was incredible value.
If you find yourself in or around Caister then you'd be a fool not to visit Dogger's Plaice!!
The quality, taste and portion sizes of food are all excellent.... the only downside for me is the fish is battered with the skin on, and I had quite a few bones, which meant i had to destruct it to eat it... but other than that top notch food.

What a fabulous fish and chip shop. Not only the best fish and chips and amazing spam fritters. The lovely ladies who work there are so friendly and cheerful.

Great food, plenty of it. Best chip shop for miles. I grew up in my parents chip shop and I can honestly say they know how to fry a decent piece of fish. We don't go anywhere else.
I'm so glad we got our fish and chips from here. We're staying on the Haven site over the road from here and decided to try this place rather than the one site. We had a large cod, fish bites (it says 8 on the menu but I'm sure there were at least 10 and some were huge) and a large portion of chips between 2 of us and we couldn't eat it all! The lady who served me was welcoming and friendly and another lady asked what I wanted cooking as soon as I walked in. It was good to know that the fish was cooked freshly to order. My cod was delicious and flaky and my husband enjoyed the fish bites. He's got 4 left for tomorrow! Another customer was told that you can have 4 fish bites instead of 8 - perfect for children. The prices were excellent and we'll definitely use this chip shop agsin when we visit the area.
Always a smile from all the staff .talkative and nothing ever to much to cook fresh for you .I love the food and the chip portions are brilliant.always ask for small but end up with medium portion.Not complaining as the batter is so crispy and delicious.Go give them look for yourself it’s worth the trip every time 👍🏻😀
