At first look the grayling appears like any other chain pub with a carvery but go inside & you will be welcomed by friendly staff & the beautiful smell of the carvery.
The place is very clean & there are inside & outside kids play areas, good selection of drinks & food menu alongside the carvery.
Everything we have tried so far has been lovely.
We will certainly be coming back & look forward to seeing the team again, Thank you!

Booking was extremely easy and we were met on arrival and shown to our table which had excellent space for a wheelchair. Staff were very helpful in taking our orders and bringing drinks etc to the table whilst we collected our carvery meal. The duty chef in charge of the carvery was extremely personable and went out of his way to make the meal as enjoyable an experience as possible, particularly for my elderly (and ill) sister. The food was exceptional and thoroughly enjoyed by our whole group and staff were very attentive without being overly so. This was an excellent end to my sisters’ visit and we shall certainly be coming back. Thank you.

Visited for Sunday carvery and it was gorgeous. I had turkey & beef , my partner opted for the pork.
From being seated to leaving the service and attitude of all the team was first class.
The chef on the servery Chris was a credit to The Grayling, pleasant, polite and it really felt he loved his job & dealing with guests.
One tip, to avoid not getting a table, book in advance.

Warm and welcoming staff and venue on arrival. Came with 3 dogs and were seated in a dog friendly area. Manager and chef both came over to say hello to dogs, brought water and treats over. Ordered food and drinks. Food arrived promptly and was great quality and taste. Puddings ordered and also delicious. On leaving, manager and chef again said goodbye to us and dogs. Such a nice friendly atmosphere and a fantastic place to eat. Hoping to come back for the carvery before we go home next week.

I had to wait quite a long time to place my order as there was no one behind the bar, someone else was waiting too. The server of the carvery was very cheerful and upbeat I couldn’t fault him. The carvery itself was very good a nice variety of meat and vegetables. Everyone was polite and all in all a good experience.

The service was really excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Even coming to tell us when the children’s food was due to come out so we could get our carvery, it was amazing service.
The food was delicious and the carvery was the best we’ve had in years. The beef was perfect!!
We will def be back.

One of my favourite places to eat out
We love the vegan/veggie options. For veggie carvery is amazing! Staff have always been super lovely. The only thing that ruins it. Is being sat next to the children's section as we don't have kids but have to then have them running around our table, screaming and shouting ( I am aware this is a parental issue and not the graylings but a polite can you keep the noise down would have been good it's a restaurant not a playground)

The chef was outstanding, very polite, and made you feel wanted. The roast potatoes, some were a bit hard to cut, but nowhere near the beef dripping potatoes, they were so hard you had difficulty cutting them open. I think the Grayling just needs sharper knives.
Loved the small plate carvery. Will call again. We visited here a few years back.

So much better now with new management, better atmosphere too. Glad the children’s area has been refurbished at long last . Still a few issues in the main restaurant that need attention. Chef that served us was great , good conversation. It was my parents 50th wedding anniversary, they had a lovely time and meal . Carvery tasted great , desserts took 18 mins to arrive after ordering , restaurant wasn’t busy . My cake was stone cold after it had been heated as requested but I didn’t want it re heated again , apple crumble was delicious. Waitresses very helpful and friendly . As above now it’s different management we will definitely return more

Spacious comfortable pub. Staff friendly and welcoming. Good menu, although we ate early on a Sunday evening and quite a lot was no longer available. Food was delicious especially the sticky toffee pudding.

We had a fabulous evening. It was my mums birthday and she is currently undergoing chemotherapy and cancer treatment so wanted all the family together to spend her birthday with her. The staff were amazing snd went above and beyond. The menu great and carvery and meals all really lovely - we will be back. Mum had requested to do it again in December if all well xx

Much improved since the last time I visited. The app wasn’t working which meant there was a bit of a crowd at the bar for ordering. Carvery could have had more choice on veg etc, but the food was really tasty and everyone was friendly and attentive compared to only a couple of months ago.
Wouldn’t hesitate to go back now.

Had a lovely Sunday roast last week. First time going, great service. Reasonably priced. Food was good, I would personally prefer a little more variety of vegetables. However doesn't take away the fact the food was delicious. Will definitely go back and recommend. 😊.

Carvery: meat was dry and I almost choked! Never had roast potatoes that taste like....plastic! And we got to hear the chief shout and swear at someone from the kitchen! Nice!!
Burger roll of the chicken and rib burger just fell apart before the 1st bite funny but not as it was a family meal.
No wonder it was almost empty in there tonight!

We visited here on holiday for a Sunday lunch. The food was amazing & the staff were very helpful & friendly especially in regards to accommodating my autistic son would defo recommend

Terrible service terrible staff, halfway through a spicy meal and expected to queue outside into the car park to get a drink. Never to return.

Been here twice and once again the car very was inedible, you walk up to the counter the choice of meat it basically nil to nothing, you get a little slab of stuffing and basically, all the veg was cold the carrots are swimming in water, you take a serving onto your plate everything is soggy its disgusting won’t be coming back, highly recommend Toby carvery

We normally go here quite alot for a cheap meal out, however we went yesterday around 8pm was told no more orders on carvery that's fine will look at the menu... found a table menus were disgusting sticky and awful the table was the same and the high chair I wouldn't let a dog sit in let alone a child so thought ok will just wipe it myself so while looking at the menu my partner took our little one to the indoor play corner it was disgusting and black just all round filthy walked out went else where. Won't be returning either.

3rd time we’ve eaten here whilst visiting Yarmouth Friendly staff reasonably priced good food & very clean throughout Child friendly with indoor & outdoor play areas Would definitely recommend 👍

Only thing worth eating are the cakes. Carvery is horrendous. Yorkshire pudding is disgusting, no seasoning whatsoever, if replaced with cardboard you wouldn't even notice.
Stuffing is so dry its almost inedible, cauliflower cheese was stodgy and mushy, potatoes cold.
Staff unbelievably rude, gave our order and she started moaning because we gave her our order in the wrong order which meant she had to fiddle with her screen to add drinks however we don't know how your system works! Why don't you talk someone through ordering if it must be done in a specific order rather than getting angry at us?
Lady came over the the table to give knives and forks and was coughing all over the place, I came to eat not catch whatever you have.
Marc Sheridan
Go there at least once a week since moving here and taken friends and family . Staff are all lovely and if you get caroline as your waitress you won’t regret it she makes your experience a great one , she is an amazing lady and we think she is the heart and soul of the place .
Food is very reasonable and always good and we are both fussy , nothing is too much trouble for you there and the staff work very very hard all year round .

Third time of going and third time it was a let down, won't be going for carvery again. At 6pm didn't even have a full range of meat, veg were washed out and tasteless. Man behind bar kept having to chase staff out of the kitchen to carve the meat. Totally unappetizing. Shame...
Alice Harrison Colley
Go for carvery here a lot but today the food was awful the turkey was too dry some needs to teach you how to make Yorkshire pudding instead of serving it like cardboard the califlower cheese was to runny the roastys was like mashed potato very disappointing to then find hair all in the dinner whilst pulling it out in front the staff they just ignored the issue ??? Something surely needs sorting

Really really lovely Sunday carvery melt in the mouth beef and lots of veg at a reasonable price 👍👍👍👍
Sandra Spindler
Roast beef carvery was delicious. Mashed swede would have been better than diced and no mashed potato but still very nice. Gammon steak with 2 eggs and chips was lovely too. Plenty of parking spaces, although a bit of a trek to the door for disabled people. Would definitely return.
Mary Oberman
Have been to this carvery and others & found this the best. Went to the Toby, paid our money, queued up to be then told they only had gammon, another one told to come back in two hours. Never have this problem with the Grayling, the food, whether from the carvery or the main menu, is always good, the staff friendly and efficient, can’t wait for my next visit!!! I admit to being very fussy, in fact, my family take bets on what I might complain about. So well done the Grayling.

Went to the grayling this evening with my fiancée for our second valentines meal what can I say the steaks we had where absolutely amazing cooked to perfection our starters where pitch perfect and my dessert......Karen the manager recommended the raspberry cheesecake and omg it was absolutely out of this world always a pleasure to eat here fantastic food very friendly staff an all round excellent service from the moment we walked in my rating is as high as it goes but I’d defo give these guys 11/10 for this evening
Julie Wallace
You get what you pay with the food, it’s cheap and good for the price. Meal for 2 adults one child, 2 courses and 2 drinks each less than £30. Of course at that price it’s It’s not fine dining but a reasonable meal.
Great service by the manager who went above and beyond to meet our requests with no complaints at all.

My friend and I are regular visitors, the staff are always extremely friendly and the food is very good value they have super daily deals and a great carvery
