We got married here a year ago tomorrow (28/1/17) and have come back today for our anniversary weekend away. After looking at venues which included overseas, both dean and I fell in love with Gretna immediately, regardless of the “tourism” side, we felt the venue offered something that all the other venues didn’t, and believe me we looked at A LOT Of places! The romantic side was vastly superior to anywhere else and although on our special day there were some tourists around, they respected our day and moved on when asked. Couldn’t recommend Gretna highly enough x

We got married here on Wednesday 25 July and it was magical, everything we had hoped for and so much more! Such a beautiful historic place and so romantic. Our ceremony in the Original Marriage room was perfectly led by the lovely registrar and Morag guided us through the whole thing as though we were the first bride and groom to ever tie the knot with them. Thank you so much from Mr & Mrs Pomfret xx

Got married at the Blacksmiths on Friday 29th June and Frank and the registra was amazing. Even though it was the last wedding of the day they still made it personal and made us feel like we were the only ones they dealt with that day. Frank also showed me around the day before even when I turned up unannounced and quite late in the day. He's a real credit to you x

Me and my husband got married here 10 years ago on valentines day we went back yesterday for our 10th anniversary it was as magical as the first time, only instead of us tying the knot we where asked to be witnesses for another couple on their journey as man and wife. We wish them all the luck in the world and hope they will be as happy as we are. Such a special place.

Frank, our Blacksmith guide was brilliant. We arranged a Handfasting to renew our vows ( 21 years on ) and celebrate 25 years of our relationship. We could not have asked for a more perfect or fitting location and ceremony than we had. The venue is superb.

Visited on 26TH June 2018 to celebrate our 20th anniversary . Was met by the wonderful Frank who was so pleased we had returned and took us through the museum. We then had the honour of being asked to be witnesses for a couple who had travelled up from dunstable . It made our 20th anniversary even more special! Special thanks to Frank and Morag you were both so lovely

A most memorable day for us. Friday, June 22nd 2018, we had an anvil hand fasting vow renewal ceremony to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. It was amazing. A fantastic experience. I'm unsure what I was expecting, maybe a clinical, routine, commercial ceremony? How wrong I was. The ceremony, conducted by the lovely Ian, was extremely well delivered in a very personal, individual, sentimental and emotional manner. It felt very special and intimate, as though the verses had been written just for us. I can't explain just how wonderful it was and it wasn't a swift 'in and out' service either - I think it was about a half hour ceremony. Ian made us feel all loved up and closer than ever. I was happy that we could take our dogs in with us too - canine witnesses. Paw prints on the certificate :-) I love the horseshoe we were given and the certificate too. Receiving a copy of the ceremony is a great touch. Awesome. WOW. Thank you to Vikki for booking us in. Huge thanks to Ian for making the occasion so very special for us, amazing. Thanks to the ladies in the shop too for their help in supplying flowers and tartan scarf as a momento. x

This was such a find. I had no idea of the history behind Gretna Green. We did the experience, which was £6.95 for an adult and was worth every penny. Full of history and how legislation changed marriage, together with some personal accounts and stories. It was beautifully presented. Very friendly service from staff too. There are several shops, a restaurant and an outdoor area with a maze and play area for children. It's a really special place and truly worth a visit.

We can't recommend Gretna Green Famous Blacksmiths Shop enough! We got married here last week, and the staff were all fantastic, and we had the most magical day! We visited the Gretna Green experience the day before our wedding, and we loved finding out about the history of the building that we were going to get married in! We also enjoyed the food in the restaurant and received excellent service from Ewan.

The Famous Gretna Green I think everyone should pay a visit to this charming place in stunning Scotland at list once in their lifetime. Very touristy place but definitely worth a visit. Lovely little shops where you can buy some fine Scotish whisky. Also its a famous place to get married 😀

Very touristy and a bit pricey. Lots of expensive Scotish items for sale. Some nice jewellery. Nice buildings. Cafe was clean and reasonably priced for a tourist hot spot. Friendly staff and clean toilets. Free entry.

We went to the lake district and we decided to go out of our way to visit here as it's a must have to say 'I've been to Scotland' when you think of border towns you think immediately of Gretna. Its a lovely place to stop for the views. And the food and shops. You can get all things Scotland here. From tartan hats to westie plush toys. The play areas are fun for the kids too. Our 2 year old loved the open grass areas and the play areas
