Review The Angel Inn - Grosmont

Rosslyn Rose
A lovely country village pub, most certainly the hub of the Grosmont community. It was a beautiful day so we sat out the beer garden with our Gwynt y Draig cider and a couple of bags of crisps. There was a mix of locals and families with children of all ages and dogs. A really vibrant but chilled atmosphere. The menu looked incredible and when we return, we will participate in a good meal. It’s certainly a recommendation to stop off here if you visit the castle and/or church.

Whilst on a day out visiting the three castles, on our visit to Grosmont we decided to call into the Angel for a pint. We had a friendly welcome and sat in front of the log fire to enjoy our drinks. Our dog was welcomed too and spoilt with treats. What a great little pub!

Lovely welcoming Team here..actually moved our booking forward when we arrived early from the 3 castles walk. So pleased they did this as it enabled us to enjoy one of the best meals I've eaten in a long while. Excellant chef indeed..lovely herb crusted lamb loin and confit shoulder with lamb crackling, mash and mustard greens with a garlic and thyme jus..simply stunning. All other meal choices in our group met with similar comments from Venison and Duck to Hake dishes.I think I'll keep it a secret. Cannot wait to return. Thank-you .!

As someone living in Manchester & who visits the Ribble Valley regularly (which prides itself on Gastro pub food), this is without doubt the best Sunday Roast I have had in YEARS. Amazingly good value. Top quality beef, massive portions, delicious veg (incl Asparagus & Tenderstem Broccoli) not to mention the roasties, gravy and yorkshires. MUST eat here.

What a fantastic find. Delightful pub, really lovely, welcoming couple who run it and some fabulous locals too. They served scotch eggs at the bar to go with an excellent pint or 2 or 3. We haven't felt that welcome in a pub for years. Can't wait to go back.
