Review Walkers Quality Fish & Chips - Gwynedd

We wanted a Chinese but it was shut. Looked online and found this chippy. Wonderful place. Had to wait nearly 20 minutes to get served because there was a massive queue. Had a staff member at one end asking what I wanted to ensure it was all in. Menu was extensive. Lots of vegan options (although I didn't need them). Large cod was indeed large as was the mini cod for the kids. Food was fresh, excellent, tasty and piping hot even after a 5 mile drive back to our holiday home. Staff were courteous and friendly and incredibly helpful. Price? 84 quid for food for six adults and 4 children was very reasonable. 100% would recommend.

Whilst on holiday in Tywyn visiting a friend, I lay in bed this morning looking for places that sell vegan food. When I came across this chippy which does vegan fish and chips. So I had to go and try. We ordered 2 vegan fish and chips and a potion of vegan onion rings. Wow there was loads, definitely enough for 3 adults and they were so nice. Staff were pleasant too. Had to wait about 8 mins but it was worth the wait as it was freshly cooked. A sea gull also wanted to have some, sorry but I'm not sharing.

This place comes recommended so I had to try it. I was tempted by the steak pie as well as fish and chips. The fish was brilliant and pie was absolutely gorgeous and the chips were good (but I am blessed with exceptional battered chips locally where I live so they were always going to be compared to). The curry sauce was really tasty and went down nice with the fish but my favourite was the chilli sauce which I had with the pie, really unique flavour you can tell they have made them all themselves - nice work. The tartare sauce was good too. The wait for chips at dinner time is huge (up to an hour) so go before you get hungry - they could do with more hands on deck at peak time. There's a couple of benches outside to seat a couple of families but we chose to eat ours on the beach and enjoy the sunset. You pay a premium for the proximity to the beach I guess so not bad value.

Fish was excellent, chips were surprisingly good, seen as how busy it was (usually chippy's rush the chips when there's a que) just short of £20 and it fed 4 of us 😀

Lovely shop with incredible amount of choice. Three of us are vegan and there is a whole board of vegan choices including vegan fish (banana leaf I think) and a Bombay bad boy burger with vegan cheese and onion rings. There’s a separate vegetarian menu too that looked good and extra special standard fish and chips shop stuff. We went on bank holiday Sunday and the queue was big but went down quickly and the staff are really friendly and helpful. It looks like a nice working environment. Vegan food was amazing and the other food was great too according to our friends. You used to be able to eat in but you can’t anymore, we didn’t need to as we went back to our campsite. Most of the packaging is plastic free too. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Can’t wait to go back.

Up at 5am, Lymington on the south coast, drove to Chepstow to meet up with others, then on to Walkers Fish n Chip shop, As there were 300 of us there was a little bit of a queue but staff were excellent, will be going again next year.

Beautiful homemade cod fishcake and chips. Friendly service and a perfect location.

One of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Plenty of options to choose from, possibly the most I’ve seen at a chippy. Good veg/vegan options too. The queue was around 40 mins at dinner time but well worth it. Good portion size, fresh food, crispy chips. Would definitely go back.

Been here in end of June. My first fish & chips, it was even better than expected. So fresh and good quality. The people working there were super friendly too, telling about the food and just very nice chat. Would recommend to everyone!

Classic fish and chips take away place. Most other places in Aberdovey closed promptly at 8pm but this place stayed open until everyone in the long line was served. We had the cod, salmon fish cakes, chips and onion rings. It was all very good. The people were friendly.
