Overall, it is a perfect place for romance or a family. Food quality high with quick, easy service. Live band and great food choices. Kids adventure mini play area, which is great news whilst you can eat and chat and keep an eye on the kids too! Live band belted out the classics all afternoon.

Yew Tree, Chalvington. Dogs permitted. Huge garden and marquee in summer. The food is consistently high quality and service is friendly. I recommend booking at peak times. Very popular with locals. Highly recommend Sunday lunch. Some slimming friendly options, generally very traditional fare.

Really lovely pub with live music, a marquee, loads of outdoor seating and a decent sized play area for kids. Ample parking too! We had vegan chilli nachos (I asked them to add cheese) which were brilliant. Thought it a bit odd that nachos were served with rice and would have preferred just tortilla chips, chilli and the toppings but it was a really good portion and very nice. My only negative is that the pub itself was shut and it was a bit cold when we visited but we had little ones with us and they couldn't stand the loudness of the music in the marquee so we decided to leave early.

Beautiful setting with incredible food. Great family place with a play area lots of grass to play on and a field with football goal. Will definitely be back many times this summer

Firstly I always start with three stars and add if anything is outstanding or conversely, reduce for bad points. Setting. Its on the Winters edge so the grounds are a bit muddy, the marquee is closed and its all a little sad looking. Nonetheless, the interior was warm and although not covid friendly, theres was ample if not comfortable seating. Staff were hit and miss. Some smiling, some not. If the food had been piping hot i would have added a star but it was lukewarm. Saying that, i did not hear one complaint about the quality and i have to agree. I would definitely return but not with a group.

The East Sussex TVR car club have been using the Yew Tree for our monthly meeting since the start of the year and it's been great. Good food, sensible prices and great friendly service. Hopefully we will continue to use the pub for a long time to come.

Cosy little pub located in the middle of nowhere in the countryside. Nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the towns. Good choice of food and portions are really good. Prices are also really reasonable. Only criticisms are we were a little cold eating in the conservatory. There didn't appear to be any heating on in there and it was incredibly cold outside with thick fog. There were also a lot of cobwebs in the conservatory which kind of puts you off eating when you question the cleanliness.

This a great pub in a remote space, but this is a massive benefit; there is a huge field, perfect for children to play in, as well as a outdoor play frame. The indoor space is your typical cozy pub but the conservative is light and airy. Would totally recommend food and drink options as well!

Fantastic pub with brilliant staff who went above and beyond. There were 22 of us and all the food came out at the same time. The food was fantastic. Would highly recommend 👌

Retired office management team outing, accompanied by torrential rain. Once found, not to be avoided !! Table for 12, coffee, drinks & 2 courses, £30 + 3hrs of 'catch up' gossip. No need to grumble !!
