Possibly the best burger 🍔 we've ever had! Lovely staff and cosy atmosphere. Highly recommend.
My 3 friends & I had lunch yesterday. The food was lovely. The veg was perfect. The pies were the best we ever had. The lamb was mouth watering. They were very helpful. Would defiantly go again.
Took our mum for Mother's Day , along with the rest of the family , we never have high hopes for meals out on Mother's Day as most places are over busy and not enough staff , but this Mother's Day was different all staff where lovely and calm even though all tables where booked out , our order was taken as soon as we was ready to make it , and all the food was perfect ,starter main and dessert , all staff are a credit to your lovely restaurant
This is by far the best food you wil get around this area and probably far beyond, the Sunday roast is the best I have ever had outside my home, have tried many other places to eat but always seem to come back here, the roast potatoes are amazing and plentiful,

I had an amazing 80th birthday lunch with all my family at the J.B. The food was excellent ( pre ordered as there were 14 of us ) & the staff were so helpful &.attentive. We often eat there as there is a lovely atmosphere &the staff are very welcoming.

We took our mum out for a pre Mother's Day lunch. Fab food, great service. We never felt rushed with any of our courses which is wonderful, really enjoyed ourselves so a big thank you guys we will be back and will be bringing more of us so watch out 😉👍🏻

They all had an amazing evening The food was lovely and the service was absolutely first class.

I had the most wonderful experience here. The venue is absolutely beautiful. When the owner heard it was my birthday cause we were joking about it at the table, the team surprised me with a song and birthday treat! It wasn't requested by us, but it was such a lovely heart warming gesture. The main food itself was also outstanding! Well priced for the food offered, and would definitely go back again!!!

We arrived at noon and were given a very warm welcome by the landlady, very courteous bar staff sorted out some cold drinks for us very quickly - was an extremely hot day!
The landlady organised the food order brilliantly (some of us were on the beautiful patio area, some indoors in the air condtioned dining area).
I had the steak and ale pie, which was delicious, the chips were fantastic, my wife had sea bream and said that was lovely too.
The waiting staff were very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the pub and the staff were tip top - thanks for making Russell's day go so well!
Absolutely loved it, we were there to celebrate a birthday and the food was amazing plus the service. We have often visited on a Sunday dor the best roast dinners but this was a Saturday and we went off the main menu everyone meal was incredible 👌

We have been to the John Barleycorn pub at least five times for food and it’s one of our favourite gastro pubs.
Service is always exceptional and portions / quality of food is great. Last night when we visited, I think her name was Lucy and she was brilliant. We’ve really enjoyed everything we’ve ever eaten there.
The triple cooked chips and onions rings are 👍
The postcode online doesn’t take you to the right place as we learnt by driving up and down the rural roads. Depending on which way your coming but when our say nav says were near, do a right instead of a left like it says, and the pub is on your left.
Price isn’t bad and we can eat 3 courses for about £70. I just wish they had a chocolate brownie on the menu.
Tables were nicely spaced before COVID but I felt a safe distance away from everyone, they had hand sanitiser available and they were also taking part in the track and trace. Not sure if this was a coincidence but I liked the doors were kept open so we didn’t have to touch them.
Only negative I have to say is that the last time we came, one of the waiters put our cutlery straight on the table rather than on a napkin.
Overall, we love it here.
Lovely quiet meal with my daughter. Very attentive staff and lovely food. Good pub grub in a restaurant environment.

We had a beautiful meal here on Saturday evening. Surprisingly it was relatively empty. The food was good and very bug portions. We had the chicken burger and the ribs which tasted amazing. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the young bar staff were so polite, professional and accommodating. Would highly recommend
Went here today for a Sunday roast. I have to say it is probably the best roast I have even eaten. We all had Maltesers cheesecake for afters which was fabulous. Over all lovely dining experience. Cozy, rustic dining area, friendly helpful staff and food to die for. Would highly recommend.
This is a lovely pub in the quiet country, that serves amazing food.
It has a nice atmosphere, a good selecting of food on the menu and the service was excellent.

The setting is nice and quiet, away from any main town and busy roads. On a sunny day the outside area is complimented by an active fish pond and a small grassy area for children to run and play away from the road. The food has always been good and fairly priced. I didn't know this place existed that long ago, and since then I've celebrated almost every occasion here! Work lunch, birthdays, weddings and funerals... It caters for all really well. I'd recommend it.
Nice welcome, sat outside on the patio with drinks. Came into the bar for dinner, fantastic liver & bacon. Great evening, definitely will return.
