originally we were going to go to the world famous Betty's tea rooms but the queues were horrendous! so came across this tea room by accident, but SO glad we did. On ordering a cream tea the owner cooked us some up especially and we had a very enjoyable, relaxed, super tasty warm! cream tea with lashings of clotted cream & a proper cup of tea! Set in a lovely building and food was super yummy! If your in Harrogate - go find this tea room!!!
Lovely tearoom, lovely food and lovely people, I would highly recommend, I will definatly return as I didn't have desert today, the sandwich was delicious and sat with my auntie chatting away for a couple of hours, the gentleman was very helpful and excellent service
A quaint yet stylish atmosphere at the top of Parliament Street's Westminster Arcade, The Tea Rooms deliver food and drinks with a difference. There are no boring, tasteless scones here! Instead, imaginative combinations create a memorable experience. The Mars bar flapjack will live long in the memory (let's be honest, each on their own are pretty good too!). Genuine, personal service, and a heartfelt concept that works. Excellent.
Couldn’t recommend more, such a little gem of a place, quick service and amazing food can’t fault it at all...better than bettys!
Me and my mum popped in for a cupa tea after visiting the christmas market. We were given a warm welcome and a lovely cupa. I also asked, on the off chance, whether they had any vegan cakes-and they did! A lovely lemon drizzle cake that they are trialling! I would definately recommend visiting!
Took my daughter for lunch today, we both had paninis which were freshly made with local ingredients, the manager/owner was very welcoming on arrival & happily chatted to us, all the staff were very friendly, lovely atmosphere, would definitely recommend & will visit again xx
Lovely tea rooms, excellent pot of Yorkshire Tea, delicious sandwiches and truly amazing scones, I had the plum and vanilla and it was so gorgeous I was unable to spare a taste for my husband! He had the fruit scone and said it was light and crumbly (and he didn’t offer me any!). We will definitely be back and would recommend a visit x
Discovered the Harrogate Tearoom yesterday, absolutely lovely place. We didn’t fancy the long wait to get into Betty’s, so thought we’d try it out, as had been recommended by friends and work colleagues. Superb afternoon tea and great service!!!!
What a lovely little hidden gem we found today popped in for afternoon tea and it was absolutely delicious x
Lovely place to stop and have a refreshing cup of tea. The Lemon Drizzle cake was amazing. Will definitely be returning.
So glad we found this gem of a coffee shop earlier this year , was back in for our 3rd visit today, such friendly staff who will try to accommodate your needs, even making us spanish affogato coffees which aren't on the menu ( they definitely should be in this weather ) they were very welcome on such a hot day.
Carrot cake and scone were amazing as usual.
Thank you very much for our takeaway scones they didn't last long !! X
So good and such a wonderful atmosphere, the staff are super friendly. I recommend you check it out. Hidden gem .
What a find! We heard the tinkle of tea cups and followed our noses, beautiful little tea room in a fantastic building. The carrot and celery soup was amazing. The service was brilliant, lovely friendly owners. If you go you must try the Rhubarb tea bread, it's to die for. Will be going back next time we are in Yorkshire.
Fantastic service and lovely food. The best scone I have ever had! It was baked that day and was served warm with cream and jam. I am going to book afternoon tea in the new year! Thank you from me and my daughter Katy.
Nice little cafe away from the busy areas in the Westminster arcade upstairs. Good food and drinks with friendly staff. Sandwiches fresh and tasty. Some unusual beers on offer. Cakes look good to.
Tasty food, and for a tea room the cakes and scones are baked to perfection. Lovely staff. Not the largest of tea rooms in the area but in a gorgeous little arcade upstairs makes it a very quaint and charming setting.

Chap gets a gong for being the most friendly, welcoming, genial and politest of persons. Nice little café upstairs in the arcade. Quiet, pleasant location. Very clean café. Homemade cakes all looked tempting. Really good range of loose leaf teas. The only thing to let it down was the frugal, meagre and skimpy serving of cheese on my "posh cheese on toast". What I had was lovely and tasty, but for the price, there really wasn't much cheese on it at all. Sorry to have to say that, as everything else was great. I would revisit now I know it's here, but cuppa and cake next time - the pistachio and almond cake looked especially good.
Wonderful Tea Rooms located inside Westminster Arcade on Parliament Street Harrogate

The tearooms are featured in a local crime fiction book series by Malcolm Hollingdrake and the main character is known to frequent the tearooms in the novels.
There is a range of the novels available to buy here too.
Highly Recommended
Brilliant Tea Rooms. Excellent foods, teas, coffees, cakes. Attentive service. You should not miss this establishment, find it off street in Westminster Arcade. Queue at Bettys for an hour or walk two minutes away to Harrogate Tea Rooms, the choice is yours.
Really great food and lovely friendly staff. We had afternoon tea which was a sandwich of your choice (we got prawn and egg both very tasty) and then scone of your choice (we had a yorkshire tea scone and rapsberry with lemon scone again very yummy!). Would recommend
Have to confess that we were hoping to go to Bettys but there was a queue! Saw a sign for this place so popped in. What a delightful little place. We were told there would be a short wait for the rhubarb and vanilla scone as it was just in the oven - can't get fresher than that! It was delicious, as was the cherry and sultana (very naughty and had jam and cream too). We had coffee (sorry!) as needed a boost before driving home to the Midlands but the tea selection looked interesting. A nice selection of home made cakes on display, all looked very tasty. The staff were really friendly, very nice visit.
Lovely food, lots of gluten free options. All home made.
Ok not going to lie, this was the best scone, cream and jam my daughter and I have ever had and we love a cheeky scone when we are out. You must try this place. We both had the saltana and vanilla scone, in fact we ordered a 3rd to share it was that good! Nice atmosphere etc.
Lovely cute tearooms hidden away up the top of the arcade, delicious food, friendly service , always go for the Yorkshire rarebit now, definitely worth the stair climb 😆
