Oliver's has some of the best fish and chips in Hartogate. The fish is always fresh and the batter is crispy and thin--just the way it should be. The interior is also really cool (it's right out of 1970s UK). Prices are very reasonable and if you dine in, it's usually not crowded (although a line can form for take away). A visit to Oliver's is a must for lovers of proper fish and chips. There's also a rotating gluten-free menu. Enjoy!!!
One of the best fish and chips we have ever had. Great prices and lovely old school atmosphere. The lady serving was also really lovely and made us feel very welcome. Would love to come back here again and would really recommend.
Had the gluten-free fish and chips and it was delicious. I'm usually very sensitive and had no problems at all. I'm planning on going back soon.

Well worth a visit.
We ordered 2x cod and chips and 2x battered sausage and chips. All were very tasty and freshly prepared while we waited. Staff friendly, welcoming and efficient.

Best fish and chips I've had in years. Good size portions, lovely chips. Sides of mushy peas and scraps are a must! Limited alcohol options, but don't care, I went for the food, not the drink. Waitress was kept busy but coped very well, was attentive and made no mistakes. Recommend you try it!!!

Nice fish and chips restaurant. The two ladies who served us were nice, especially the lady who took our orders. They also give you proper heinz ketchup.
The haddock was nice, the batter was light, crispy and tasty. We totally enjoyed our meal. I had the regular fish and chips with mushy peas, and a slice of bread/butter, which was more than enough for me.

Amazing fish n chips, has gluten free too, which is a bonus. Spam fritters are great, and curry sauce is good too. Staff are really friendly and the service is great. It's really good value for money as well.
Best fish and chips I have eaten in a long while, crispy dry chips with perfectly cooked haddock. Staff down to earth happy to help people. Would visit again next time I am in town.
Whenever I’m back in Harrogate from Oz, visiting Mum and family, I’ve got to savour fish & chips & mushy peas once again!
There’s lots of good choices in Harrogate - but none are better than Oliver’s.
Occasionally I’m unfaithful - but always return to the fold.
