The third visit for us on less than a year and we have also bought relatives breaks here as well
As usual it was faultless the £99 deal with high tea a lovely evening meal in the grand dining room. A superior room which admittedly we were lucky to get and then a lovely breakfast buffet including full English continental or a bit of everything. The weather was kind to us and Harrogate is a great place
The Hotel is central with free parking which is always a bonus these days. It is therefore good for those with disabilities. The Hotel is run in a semi formal way with staff very attentive but still you feel very comfortable and at home
I would recommend this hotel to anyone it still has the Agatha Christie feel and at £99 for a double room with afternoon cream tea, dinner and breakfast what is your reason for not visiting?
We had an amazing wedding at the old swan we couldn’t of asked for any thing better. It was perfect thank you to Emily and Chris and all the other staff involved from start to finsh. We can’t wait to get our photos back to help us relive our wedding day. The hotel and gardens are just stunning perfect for a summer wedding if you are gifted the weather as we were. We was lucky enough to able to have our ceremony in the pavilion which made it extra special to us. The food choices that we choose was brilliant everyone really enjoyed the food both the wedding breakfast and evening food. When we was planning the wedding at the old swan the packages are really flexible to cater to you and your needs never felt like we couldn’t ask questions and go through things again if you wasn’t sure on something. I stayed in one of the bridal suites the night before and the night of the wedding and for me this started the whole weekend off it was so lovely and really good to get ready in the morning as there is so manys rooms in the suits to do hair and make up in and never felt cramped or on top on each other. Also the staff set up the whole of the garden room for the wedding breakfast and the reception perfectly so we had nothing to do on morning which is a massive help. I could go on for ever and praise everything we really couldn’t fault anything and would highly recommend this venue and can’t wait to stay here again.
Many thanks kirsty and Ross
Lovely welcome on arrival, room was on 3rd floor with amazing views, very spacious room. After a long journey was nice to sit outside and enjoy afternoon tea for 4 with staff that were very attentive. Walked around the beautiful town then returned for our evening meal which was beautifully presented and very tasty. Morning breakfast was very busy but staff we're on the ball. We will Definitely recommend this hotel.
In the words of Lloyd Christmas - I liked it a lot ... I especially liked all of the food and the waiters and waitresses they were all fantastic at their jobs and the blonde bloke on reception he was spot on too. Stayed in room 185. Nice immaculately clean room with a new massive bathroom. Loads of parking. Overall had a great stay, I would recommend Montys rock cafe if your a fan of live music or the old bell if your a fan of gin. I would of liked to of seen a hash brown at breakfast and more vegan or vegetarian options on the main dinner menu but still bloody great time had by all.

Lovely place and cannot fault the afternoon tea they catered for my gluten free diet and it was delicious would highly recommend
Second visit to this wonderful hotel. Bought as a cheap treat for us. Just an overnighter this time but cream tea, dinner, bed and breakfast included. Excellent value for money.
Yes the hotel is old, the floorboards creak but its spotlessly clean and comfortable. If you want clinical and impersonal go somewhere else. Arriving here you are stepping back in time.
Cream tea was lovely, just what we needed after our drive. Dinner was great too. Lots of choice and nicely prepared, cooked, presented and served. Staff were all attentive and couldn't do enough for us.
Breakfast was also great. Lots of fresh fruit and the cooked option was well cooked and nice and hot.
The only bug bear? Not serving Yorkshire tea!
We had our wedding here on 22nd December 2017 and it could not have been any more perfect! The organisation from the hotel was spot on and we were confident that everything would be exactly as we wanted it to be and we were not disappointed. The food, the service, the venue..it was all wonderful. Thank you so much for making our day special and memorable, we will definitely be back to stay soon.
