Went here yesterday with family and friends, comprised of 5 adults and 4 children.
First impressions, the restaurant is clean, nice décor with welcoming and friendly staff.
We turned up on a Saturday at 3.30pm and we're surprised to find the place empty. In fact, nobody else came until around 6pm when we were leaving.
Food: we ordered chicken wings, chilli paneer, lamb chops, plain Mogo, chilli garlic mushrooms, masala chips for starters. Lamb keema, butter chicken, biryani and naan for mains.
Food was all flavoured nicely, and cooked perfectly. No complaints at all. Only slight comment would be the lamb chops were very small and no too much meat, but cooked and flavoured really well. The keema peas also had no peas but not an issue for me. Portions were all nicely sized. Desert: gulab jamun with ice cream and chocolate brownie with ice cream. Brownie itself was not very chocolatey, and a little chewy, but the gulab jamun was delicious.
Overall, everyone agreed this place was a nice find, and we will definitely come here again. We know some more family who would really enjoy this place, and that's why I'm surprised it was so quiet.
Drinks: they have a good selection of beers, cocktails and juices. Pints were crisp and fresh. Most notably, the glasses and cutlery were all clean and spotless which you don't get in most restaurants.
Lovely place, would definitely recommend.
We visited this cosy pub on a rainy evening and despite the poor weather the restaurant was packed! It was a good decision to book a table in advance via OpenTable. We were served by James, who was very attentive and made us feel welcome from the get-go. They are able to cater for gluten-free, vegan & non-dairy diets, which I thought was a thoughtful touch. Whilst there are fewer vegetarian options compared to the meat dishes they have, the owner informed us that they were looking to increase the variety of vegetarian options. Indeed, it was a wonderful touch when he came over to ask us how we'd found the food and discussed how the journey with the pub restaurant had been for them since taking over it in 2016. Having a family history of Kenyan Punjabi's, it is wonderful to see how they are trying to incorporate this through the dishes they have on offer. The music was also old-school and lighting dim, making it a romantic atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place!
Its an english pub refurbished restaurant. Overall experience of us was good here, nice ambience, good food and service. We specially like the peanut masala and egg curry, naans were good in taste. I recommend this place for outing with frnz or get-together. Host at the restaurant was very welcoming.
I recently had the pleasure of dining in this cosy, intimate restaurant and I must say, it was a great experience. The service provided was truly fantastic, with the staff being attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. The owner, in particular, stood out with his warm and welcoming demeanor.
Now, let's talk about the food. The paneer tikka was a standout dish for me. The paneer was soft and creamy, with a delightful contrast of tasty burnt edges. It was truly a pleasure to savor each bite. The lachha paratha was equally impressive, being flaky and simply amazing. The garlic naan was also a hit, perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
However, the paneer makhani fell slightly short of my expectations. While it was indeed creamy, it lacked the rich tomato flavor that I was hoping for. It was still enjoyable, but I couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment.
One downside of the meal was the passion fruit juice. Although I was excited to try it, I found it to be disappointingly sour and the abundance of seeds was a bit off-putting. It didn't quite live up to the refreshing and fruity experience I was hoping for.
Overall, Indian Gastro kitchen is a fantastic place to dine. The service is top-notch, with a friendly and likeable owner. The paneer tikka, lachha paratha, and garlic naan are definite must-tries.
Amazing place. Amazing food. Amazing people.
The service and food are excellent! And owner came to my table asking if all was alright. This is outstanding, especially in London!
The food was excellent, the waiting time wasn't too long and the owner and waitresses were very friendly towards us. The food was also fresh and didn't have a smell towards it, prices was nearly worth it.
My family and I recently had dinner at the Indian Gastro Kitchen and were blown away by the freshness and flavour of everything we tried. I'm very sensitive to spice and was pleased that our server was more than happy to adjust the level in my dishes - it was perfect. The meat dishes like the lamb were simply amazing, even my husband who is an extremely picky meat eater gave the Desi lamb 5 stars! I don't think we've ever tasted indian food from a restaurant in harrow and its surrounding areas that could produce such homely flavours as delicious and fresh as theirs. We can't wait to go back and sample more of their menu because if the dishes we had are any indication, this is some of the best Indian food we've ever eaten. I’d strongly advice you to book a table!
We visited this place on Saturday night and it was quite busy. We offered a opposite the washroom, which was a big turn off but it was our fault as we forgot to book a table😞.
What I liked -
Ambience - good , kids allowed until late
Food - amazing , spicy is 🔥. I believe the chef is Indian, that's what my friends told me.
Service - quick and prompt
What could be improved -
Food portions - were too small , literally they were half of what we usually get in some other places. And , not mention the place is expensive.
Service - Towards the end, the waitress came to our our table quite often to check , if we needed anything , it was so often that
It made us think that is it time for us to get up and leave .
And believe me , it wasn't like we were sitting there with one beer , for ages.
We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids and we were continuously ordering and drinking and our bill was £180.
So it just felt a bit odd as to why the constant check 🤔.
So I have rated the place as 4 ⭐ because of the food portion and for the constant poking by waitress.
Would I go there again - Yes , just to enjoy the lovely food , maybe I will go alone this time , just to eat , 😂.
Note - the pics attached are only of the starters. I didn't bother to take the pics of the main course as by then my priority had changed from clicking pics to eating ..lol
I like this place. The place is often busy, the food tasty, especially potatoe bhaji. They have separate vegan menu. The owner is friendly and helpful. They recently employed many new staff which have to learn better service skills. Otherwise, it's a perfect place for good Indian food.
We had a really nice evening here on Saturday. The drinks, food and service were all excellent and our server was James who did a great job of looking after us. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to going back in the future
