Referred about this restaurant from a friend, went for a dinner, looks like under new owner, food was delicious, service was great so as the price. Definitively will go there again.
I had lunch with a friend of mine at Trattoria Sorrentina. The food was fresh and super delicious! I enjoyed a warm conversation with the new owner who was very prompt and responsive. I can’t wait to go again!
We had lunch yesterday at Trattoria Sorrentina, a place that a friend of mine had recommended few weeks ago. I must express that we were positively impressed from the hospitality of the staff. Food was excellent, a great opportunity to try an authentic Mediterranean taste and flavor at a very reasonable price. Quite an exquisite site at this part of London!
Looks like the ownership has changed, and with it the quality of the food has dropped considerably.
We booked a table for an early dinner (6pm), when we got there, they had our name, but no table.
The waitresses were more concerned with the phone calls than dealing with us.
When we finally got our food, we had to send the kids pasta back for being cold and under cooked.
I ordered a stake (medium), it was over, but it wasn’t seasoned.
When the bill came, the tip was optional, but when I asked for it to be removed, they waitress got angry.
I do enjoy this restaurant previously, but won’t be going there again.
We enjoyed a beautifully cooked Saturday lunch, using the freshest ingredients, and were made very welcome by the new owners - who explained that they have only very recently started offering lunch on Saturdays. We look forward to eating again at Trattoria Sorrentina at an early opportunity. All in all, great food and good value for money.
Quite a good Italian meal but apparently this restaurant has changed hands a few weeks ago. The new menu didn’t look traditional Italian but the specials board made up for this with veal chops, liver and grilled sole amongst others available
It's a super place. The owner is the waiter, the food is good. The service works. No complaints. All good.
This was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. The steak was uneatable, it was like a mouth work out trying to chew it. Three course dinner was such a disappointment. The best was the potato's.
Service was appalling, very rude staff. Customer service needs reviewing. Our party was 15 people and everyone's food was bad.
I chose this restaurant for a group of 14 people based on the good reviews that I saw. Overall, I would say that the food was good but the service was terrible!
To give you more detail, when I first entered the restaurant ahead of my group, the owner and staff saw me but none of them greeted me, nor any of the members of my group after me. When everyone was seated they didn't bother to bring any menus until I asked for them. The food was good but for certain main courses, for example the spaghetti Bolognese, the portion was starter size which they charged £10.50 for.
At the end of the meal the owner came over to me with the total bill written by hand and told me aggressively, like a debt collector, that I was responsible for the bill being paid and that I had to sort out the payment with each person. I suggested he goes around with a card machine but he came back with a calculator and gave it to me so I had to explain to him again to get the mobile card machine and go around the table, which he proceeded to do so. The card machine didn't even accept card tapping, only punching in pin numbers.
The owner argued with me over the amount that I wanted to pay for my meal, wanting to charge a Pound extra but I pointed the price out on the menu and he backed off. He then proceeded to aggressively ask each person for payment and making sure that they factored in the 10% service charge. The atmosphere was tense. They even charged for the bread which they just put on our table without asking us if we wanted any. One girl just casually said that they brought her the wrong wine but that she was happy to pay for it. The owner started reprimanding her for not telling the waiter at the time he brought it. He made a big deal out of it. The whole thing reminded me of Fawlty Towers and I was expecting Basil Fawlty to come out of the kitchen and do the goose step. I will not go there again.
Old style Italian restaurant. Romantic feel, and very cosy. Had the Traviata di Melone to start which was a fantastic size portion. My partner had the ravioli with four cheese which he said was unbelievable and I had the crespoline Allaniah ricotta and spinach which were so filling. This is our new favourite
Even after reading the good reviews we found that Sorrentina passed all of our expectations. The owners were delightful, informative and friendly. The interior is charming, authentic and unpretentious; and all the food we ate was delicious. We enjoyed meals from their specials board as well as from the extensive main menu - ate far too much, but left feeling very satisfied 'though rather full! Regrettably we live over 60 miles away otherwise we would be frequent visitors, but we hope to return one day.
The days of the independent Italian restaurant may be numbered as most places seem to be part of a chain offering the same menu everywhere. It's good therefore to come across a traditional Italian ristorante that has been around doing its own thing for ever. Such is Sorrentina in Harrow which has been part of the town's landscape for over thirty years. It is small, cosy, friendly and serves good food without fuss or gimmicks. We found the set-lunch excellent value and were pleased with the dishes on offer. Our starters of Melon (traditional but good nonetheless) and the Anchovies salad were much enjoyed. The fish had been marinated and doused with chilli to give them and the accompanying salad leaves a really tasty kick. The main course Salmon in Provencale sauce was a good choice, a nice piece of the fish with a zesty sauce. My Calves' liver was cooked in the Venetian style with onions and a thick gravy. Accompaniments, a mixed vegetable selection, fitted the bill exactly and we couldn't have asked for a better lunch. The desserts were equally special: a delicious Panna cotta and Strawberries Romanoff, a hearty portion of the fruit folded into lashings of whipped cream, a perfect finish to a very special lunch.
Looked for a restaurant on Open Table for that appealed to us near Northwick Park Hospital and liked the sound of Sorrentina. We were not disappointed with this traditional Italian with a pleasant atmosphere in which you could hear ourselves talk! The staff were knowledgeable about the menu which offered a wide choice. The restaurant was typically old style Italian with white tablecloths which I prefer in preference to the modern restaurants with marble tables and tiled floors. Some of the other diners were obviously regulars and all the food looked well presented. Although we only had 2 courses we were not disappointed with our choice of ravioli and melanzane gratinate.
We will certainly return sooner rather than later.
Loved the food, plenty of it. Been coming here for years and it never disappoints me.
The staff are so kind and accommodating. The owner Miguel and his wife always come over to talk with you
We pre-booked for 14 on a Saturday night to celebrate our son's Confirmation. We chose the party menu and pre-ordered the food. many of our guests had not visited the restaurant and were delighted with the quality of the food and service.
Contrary to other postings the restaurnt can cope with large partys provided you give them prior notice.
Was very disappointed having visited there yesterday with the family and parents. The place was full and hot but unfortunately there was only two people serving. It took 20 mins before I managed to get there attention for drinks. Never once did they come over and ask if we needed more drinks etc, had to get there attention each time. You felt there rush as they hovered over.
Went straight for main. It took over 1h30m to get the food. Frankly by this point it wasn't about enjoying the food as we were all hungry and tied. Kids had had enough by then and it spoilt the evening.
I'm sure things are different when quiet or during the day but I would definitely give this a wide berth if this is busy.
To top it all they charged gratuity. What a joke. Didn't seem bothered when we left after the meal..... Poor.
Had the most lovely meal here.
Very welcoming and friendly owners and fantastic food.
They were more than happy to adapt any meals to Gluten Free, in fact they host the Gluten Free society dinners and also have a large and comprehensive vegetarian menu.
We had the Salad Tricolore to start, served with a fresh basil dressing, rather than the usual miserly 2 or three basil leaves I am used to at other restaurants, which made the basil flavour beautifully strong in every mouthful.
To follow we had the spicy baby chicken and the calves liver (both modified GF versions). These were so tasty and served with a wonderful selection of steamed and roasted vegetables.
Honestly, even if the food wasn't so great I'd want to go back for the warm welcome and friendly conversation. But it is, so it's even better!
Go, you won't be disappointed!
This is a small intimate family run Italian restaurant in harrow. I ordered the seafood spaghetti and salad which was cooked well and tasted delicious. Definitely a refreshing change from the big Italian chains we get so often on the high st.
Having been in the area for work we decided to visit based on the reviews and went as a group of 6. From the minute we opened the door we were welcomed with open arms and quickly presented with a table. The menu offered a bounty of flavours and choosing was quite difficult as it all sounded so good. When we had eventually made the choice the food arrived and did not disappoint, it was exceptional. The plates were cleared and the general consensus was that we only wished we were nearer.
The whole group would recommend a meal here, a perfect combination of good food with charming service.
Wonderful staff, excellent food, the atmosphere is chilled and relaxing. Great choice of wine. I love the manager (chef) he oversees all of the food. He'll change anything you want. He comes to the table to speak with all of his guests. His wife serves and she chats to everyone. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
