The Kitchen

We did a Chopped Food challenge event as a holiday party group. Each group was given a plate of ingredients and a cooking expert to assist in a cook-off. We spent about 60 minutes in the food prep stage. Alcohol is available to make the teams a bit more "relaxed". We then ate the dinner while the judges assessed our dishes for creative, tested, and presentation. Our group of 13 had a great and memorable day. Highly recommended.

My go-to lunch spot whenever I need to meet someone in Hartford. Great food - their signature curry chicken salad sandwich (also available as a salad) is amazing. I also love the mission of the restaurant, and the goals make the pricing worth it. (I just found out they have a discount for state employees as well, so if you're one, make sure to bring your ID - a happy bonus!)

The staff are super nice (and have great taste in music!) They food is fresh and delicious. They change up their menu to match the flavors of the season.. but keep their Staples like their curry chicken salad and sandwiches. I just left this morning as they were bringing out fresh croissants and goat cheese and herb biscuits. This place is my go to for breakfast and lunch!!

I love this place. Their food is top quality, the people are extremely friendly. They change it up with specials all the time. The mac & cheese is my favorite. I've never had issues with their food upsetting my stomach - which is not common for me to be able to say. It really is a big deal for me to trust the food from a place that has ready made foods available. Only thing, is the price is a little high. But for the quality and their mission, it's worth it.

I was passing through Hartford on a mini road trip and we decided to stop in Hartford. The Kitchen had great reviews and was near to the highway which made it the most convenient place to stop.I had the avocado toast and a lavender lemonade- both were very good. My friends had salmon and quiche and everyone was happy with everything they ordered. The staff was also really kind and conversational (which isn't something we're used to coming from the super-rushed city of Boston!)This place also has a cool story behind it and finding a place with good food that supports the local community was a double win!
