A hidden gem in the Kentish country side, offering an outstanding selection of Kentish beers and snacks, in an amazing location with a heavenly garden. Super friendly locals and a wonderful lady host.
Very friendly welcome from the landlady in this old village pub, serving excellent real ales. There was a pop up street food vendor in the garden - worth a try next time. Just loved all the history within the various rooms, especially the stone floored snug.
Met a couple of friends here whilst on a return visit to Kent. It is the sort of pub that made me want to return to Kent after 35 years living in Yorkshire. Absolutely excellent little place - shame that there was no food from the kitchen on the night that I was there (a Thursday). This is exactly h
Lovely people, lovely place and obviously, lovely beer! Favourite pub by a long shot. Thanks
A wonderful country pub, great been and food, wonderful staff and landlords and it's dog friendly, too.
One of the best, traditional pubs I have had the pleasure of drinking in. Ann and Annie (the owners) are so welcoming. The ale is crystal clear and the atmosphere is awesome. The limited opening hours add to it's charm. Food is limited to Sandwiches on Saturdays but they are not to be missed. Cannot
Great little pub in picturesque surroundings. Just a 45 minute walk through the country from our campsite, a welcoming pint of ale was a perfect way to spend Saturday afternoon.
Lovely people. Charming land lady. Lovely decor. Very friendly locals. A testament to what an old English Kentish pub should be. And loads of deserved CAMRA awards. Great!
The best of the best and they have the award to prove it! It's what a country pub should be and with possibly the nicest mid size beer garden around. Good beers, guest ales, larger and more, plus top quality Ploughman's and sandwiches to suit all. Recommended.
Stopped in here one weekend afternoon to escape a torrential downpour. Such a lovely little pub I didn’t want to leave. Good selection of beer, a friendly welcome and open fires. I wish I lived nearer.
Some nice beer in a traditional pub. Sandwiches served on a Saturday only. Nice lunch stop on a hike
I go pretty much every week: the beer, service and ambience never falters. Excellent pub.
Stopped at the bowl today, a really great pub, wonderful beers, friendly staff, and pickled eggs!!what more could you ask. Pub was full, evidence that lots of other people agree with me. Please keep going, we will be back when we can, thanks, Tim Sheil
A lovely country pub with friendly owners and a good selection of beers. The garden is an ample size too, ideal for when the weather is good
This is a nice English village pub with lots of atmosphere. We had a couple of drinks in the lovely garden which was fun of flower on our visit. Recommended.
Excellent pub, friendly staff. Great selection of real ales. Will definitely be back to try the food
Called in spontaneously on a hot June day when it was 33° outside. Once I'd come to terms with the 'cash only' policy by finding a fiver under the seat of my car, the pub was fantastic. Quiet and cool inside which suggested cosy in winter. Well looked after beers and lagers at reasonable prices. Bea
