A great local pub that offers something more traditional than others in the area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They have a good pub-grub menu and a blackboard of specials. I ordered the lasagne from the specials and was really expecting a microwaved meal despite it being on the specials list, but I was surprised to receive a huge homemade portion with a mountain of chips and salad. The lasagne was very tasty and had peppers in it which was great for added veg, the only feedback would be that I’d have liked it to have more tomato in the mince. I couldn’t finish the huge serving but was kindly offered a doggy bag. I have never been in such a clean pub, everything was immaculate, including the toilets. All stock behind the bar was arranged with military precision with not a speck of dust. Even the condiments on the dresser were neatly arranged with the labels facing forward! You could literally eat off the tables. If you want something trendy with IPAs, organic wines and small plates, this won’t be for you, but if you want something traditional, filling and friendly, then I’d recommend this place.
Great little pub with friendly staff, nicely spaced tables and a good range of food and drinks. Portions are big and prices reasonable. Live locally but only just visited for the first time. Will be back.

Lovely place with really friendly staff! Not too busy, free parking and close to beach! Absolutely great wholesome food a decent price and super clean pub. Honestly can't ask for anything more.
I walked from Hastings, where I was staying for a week, just to visit this pub. A gem. Great interior, a nice fluffy carpet (a reason to visit by itself!), good service and reasonable prices. I highly recommend this pub.
Friendly pub, with great beer garden for those with dogs! Food looks great as well, so back this evening for some grub! 👍
Update....and so went back for a meal in the evening and was not disappointed! Good range of choices on the menu, with many items listed as home-made, which is great to see. I opted for the 1/2 lb Angus burger which was superb and cooked to perfection! Served with a generous portion of delicious skin-on fries, salad, and tasty home-made coleslaw, this was definitely a real hunger-buster. The staff are great and very friendly, as were the locals. All-in-all, a pub that is well worth visiting whether for a drink or a meal!
