Had my works Christmas meal there on 2 December 2016...16 of us and WOW what an amazing meal. The food as ever was simply outstanding, very tasty and hot. I had the roast beef and my oh my it melted in your mouth. Everyone said they really enjoyed it and was very happy with the whole evening. The service from your 3 table staff was 2nd to none and should be very proud of the job they done. The whole evening was amazing and the feedback I have had so far from everyone who attended was that they were more than pleased with my choice of venue and my recommendation that we go there as the food and service was exceptional. Please thank Billie, Chantelle and the 3rd young lady for me and I will be popping in a little something for them for Christmas, also thanks to the chef and of course Dennis and Sarah for hosting the evening.

Such a charming and wonderful pub that has a unique atmosphere unrivaled in the old town. Food is amazing to my particular favorite being the steak and ale pie chased with anything from the dessert menu! If your in the area I would 100% recommended eating here to get that unique old town experience

We was told this was one of the oldest pubs in Hastings old town, so had to visit. Small, quaint pub. The staff were friendly. We ordered some lunch which was lovely and fresh. Constant steady flow of people visiting for a drink. Nice clean toilets

We called here at midday for food. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children and we were seated on a big table by a friendly lady behind the bar who took our drinks order. The food was very nice. I ordered the smoked mackerel with new potatoes and salad and it was extremely good. The menu said it was local and it certainly tasted fresh. I would recommend it.

The Sunday Roast was absolutely delicious. Our server Ben was such a lovely fella, he was so friendly and courteous and a joy to chat with. The Pub has a nice cozy atmosphere, we found the Sunday Roast to be very well priced. And if we lived in Hastings, we would definitely make it a point to eat there often on a Sunday. If you are ever in Hastings, stop in and grab a bite or a drink and see Ben....his such a lovely young man.

Called in for a lunchtime pint while on holiday . Pleasantly surprised. Friendly barman . Nice atmosphere Decided to try lunch after seeing food coming out for other customers. I had the steak and kidney pudding which came with mash spuds peas and carrots . And a lot of gravy in a gravy boat . Portions were plentiful and I can generally eat a lot . My wife had the Salmon and asparagus fish cake with salad and fries. Both were really tasty . Would certainly return or another visit if in town and recommend it .

The Anchor Inn is magical! An instant homely feel with a relaxed and warm welcome from the staff. The food is home cooked with no fuss, a fair price and generous sized portions. There is a large ancient looking open fire stacked high with chopped logs, and lots of cozy corners in the pub to enjoy good food, good company and the warm atmosphere. This is a home from home!

Just had lunch at the Anchor Inn with my wife. I had the steak fajitas which were cooked to perfection and tasted great. My wife had the salmon and haddock chowder which smelt amazing and tasted even better. The staff were very friendly and attentive but not hovering beside you. All in all a very pleasant experience
