Dropped in to escape the rain at this very popular and aptly named cafe. Was extremely busy and had to queue to order for 10minutes but settled down in a seat for lovely coffees. Oat flat white (45p extra for Oat- a bit steep but I have paid it before) and cappuccino were both excellent and the clearly regular clientele were all pleasant. Nice place to watch the world go by, but not the place you would go for quirk or wonder

Great sandwiches. Tea fantastic. Cake delicious. Staff friendly. Could the disabled toilet be for people with disabilities or mobility issues and not everyone. I had to wait for the queue for people , all able to walk upstairs and stand up without pain. I have mobility issues, and i am not able to stand up for long. Get a Radar key 🔑 please

A very nice coffee shop in the heart of Hastings. Superb service, the coffees were strong and tasty. The place is very small with limited seating, and the toilet was a bit rough

Food great, staff friendly, lovely atmosphere, decor had a major uplift since I was last here many years in its former life as Mr Bean's Coffee House. Special mention for the server who gave excellent service to the disabled customer ahead of me in the queue, helping her with her order and to put her change away as well as sorting out bringing her order to her table. It was lovely to see.

Very smart large bakery cafe. Good coffee. The staff were very nice - it was obvious that they get quite a few regulars here, and the staff knew names and regular drink selections. Recommended on the way to the train station.

It serves a real 'large' cup of coffee! Why do so many other coffee shops refuse to follow Costa and Starbucks, and give huge cups like they do? The staff were friendly and attentive, and there are views outside all around. The cake was good too. Recommended.

Often pop in for a latte and cake, always served with a smile and a how are you today? Mel and her team work hard to ensure the cafe is clean, tidy and service is efficient! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and shall be returning soon.

A very long established , respected, bakery and café with several outlets in the local area. This family business is a great alternative to the national coffee house chains such as Costa, especially if you want a wider choice of food. The coffee is very good and if syrups are your thing there's plenty to choose from. As for cakes, sandwiches, hot snacks etc. you won't know what to choose. Everything is extra large and excellent quality. Service has always been fast and efficient and there's plenty of seating upstairs and down. I see some people are saying it's expensive and I guess if you're comparing the price of a sandwich here to one elsewhere it may seem pricey. But you get what you've paid for, quality. A decent, generous filling, in thickly sliced fresh bread from their bakery (your choice white, brown etc) If I had one criticism it would be the buy ten get one free drink scheme. It's the old paper card stamping scheme and they aren't very good at telling you about it or reminding you about the card when purchasing. It needs modernizing with a plastic card scheme. It would be wider used and easier to remember. Finally, yes, these Viennese whirls really are as wide and thick as they look. They make the usual branded boxed Viennese whirls in supermarkets look pathetic in comparison and are a thousand times more tasty.

Always great food and friendly service but please don't go there as it's busy enough already 😉
