Breakfast menu is fantastic with great selection. I highly recommend the chiliquilles. Coffee was great and loved it out of their special mugs. Service was warm and friendly and the overall menu selection offers a range of traditional Tex-mex items and a few things you typically can’t find anywhere else.

This place is great.
My wife and I were just in Hastings for a few days and decided to try this nice little place next to the river. Two entrees and drinks for a decent price. The portions were good and my wife said the vegetarian enchiladas were the best she has ever had. The salsa was very good; not super runny and not overblown with cilantro (I am not a fan of cilantro so ymmv). The interior is cozy and the staff were very courteous.

Such great food! We eat Mexican food all the States and this was some of the best flavored steak fajitas and enchiladas we have had. Great service, friendly and great price!!

El Mexican is one of my favorite places to eat in Hastings. The service feels very personal and the food is delicious. Get the tamale special when it's available, those tamales are a special treat from the owner's mother. I've never been disappointed with the flavors or portions.

Amazing food. Friendly, attentive service. We had chicken fajitas, beef burritos, tacos doritos (?) and chicken enchiladas. Churros of course. Our favorite place.

Food here was decent. I had the al pastor tacos & a margarita. The prices also weren’t bad either. The area the restaurant is located in was very cute. Had a small town feel to it, they also had patio seating which was really nice.

Top notch everything a hidden little gem surrounded by great places. Make a afternoon of it. Enchiladas are to die for.

Terrible experience. My order was completely wrong, even after the waitress repeated it back to me. They remade it and it was still partially wrong. The refried beans were like water and they made my taco shell soggy, I had to eat it with a knife and fork. Wife's margarita was chunks of ice, tasted terrible. Then the check came, $45 bucks. What a rip off.
