Review The Village Tea Room - Hatfield Heath

On Friday afternoon (6th October) we used a Buyagift voucher for Afternoon Tea for Two at this delightful place in a lovely location opposite the green and church, along a small row of shops and restaurants. It was the closest tearoom listed to where we live and, although a 40 minute drive away, was well worth it. The very quick and easy booking was taken over the phone the previous afternoon. As soon as we opened the door and stepped in, we were greeted from across the counter at the other end of the room with the brightest and most welcoming of smiles from Daisy, who turned out to be our charming, friendly, polite and attentive teenage waitress. We had a lovely leisurely afternoon enjoying the beautifully presented delicious food and drink. We highly recommend a visit and hope you’re fortunate enough to have Daisy make it even more enjoyable. Thank you!

This is a propa Tea Room Everything is homemade on site! From scones to cakes to quiches. This can be seen from the clear kitchen as you walk in. The staff were lovely, very friendly and warm. Great selection of teas to choose from. Amazing selection of cakes available, the difficulty is not choosing too many ha! We had a warm scone with propa cream, big warm and soft, Wow!! We popped in here by chance and thoroughly enjoyed our visit, we will definitely visit back here for lunch next time.

Went for an afternoon tea curtesy of our daughter via a voucher. Celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary. It was difficult to park with restrictions so we were late. The waitresses were fairly friendly to begin with, then warmed up a bit later on. Our afternoon tea was freshly made and there was a good variety of sandwich fillings and cake. I had to order extra tea after our coffee as we were forgotten about when there was another busy spell. Felt we had to rush it as we were only allowed to park for an hour as the free car park was full up. Its a shame as we would've gone back.

What a superb tea room! Well organised and friendly. Decent amount of room around each table. Latte was creamy and hot, and the cafetiere coffee was really tasty. Treat yourself to a toasted tea cake with butter, they are AMAZING! Thanks ladies, a top job. We will return (not just to visit grandads bus shelter either!)

Decisions, decisions!! 4 or 5 stars? I liked it but I'm always wary of overstating the quality of any place I stop at when cycling and have lunch. Most times I'm hungry enough to eat the proverbial horse, in this case it was their big breakfast, and it went down well so that's a good start. I suppose there was an even better start as the ride leader had booked a table and it was set ready for our arrival. Ordering was easy as the member of staff was armed with a tablet and despite my wishing to substitute items things went smoothly so food and drinks arrived quickly. That's it, thus is a nice place with charming and efficient service so what more is there to say. If you're around the area do try it.

A very nice tea room that serves lovely cakes and desserts - afternoon tea is also nice. The ambience is very light and welcoming. There is a car park a short walk away. My only gripe - we had a table booked for afternoon tea for mother's day, and had to queue outside to wait for our table, I do understand space is limited, but not great when you're with someone with disabilities who can't stand for long. You're also limited to 2 hours seating, which is usually enough, but personally, when you want to relax and enjoy your tea, I don't like feeling rushed. Otherwise, a nice place to visit.

Beautiful village tearoom. Menu was great & was spoilt for choice on the freshly made cakes. Staff & service was excellent. Lovely smiles.

First visit here and it won't be my last. Poached eggs on toast, beautifully cooked eggs on hot buttered toast. Only a quick visit no time for cake, they looked lovely though. Next time tea and cake I think.

Went for afternoon tea which was lovely although dont get a choice of sandwiches but not a big problem to put me off going again. Use tea leaves in their tea pots which is lovely but tea can get a stewed towards the end. Lovely cakes and scones which are all home made! Will be going back
