Review D's Cafe Diner - Hatfield Peverel

Proper Full English breakfast😃😃Good quality sausage and bacon. Fried bread was really good. Egg cooked perfectly, really tasty bubble and squeak. Mushrooms nicely cooked and to top it all off tinned tomatoes which go so well with a fried breakfast. Overall a very good value popular place. Order at counter and they give you an order number. Which they call out and bring your food to you. Well run place, nice and clean and good friendly staff. Thank you for a great breakfast 😃😃

1st time here. Staff and food was lovely. Fair pricing. Personal choice, I didn't like the sausages. Reasoning for 4 stars is tables were sticky. That's all I found disappointing about the place. I will go back. And I'm sure if I spoke up they would of sorted it

Had sausage baguette(pretty much 2/3rds of a baguette, and 4 sausages), plus portion of chips(chunky/crispy and dry)and coffee. It was all good, v filling/tasty and cooked spot on. All for £8.10 and 10mins for the food. Staff all v approachable and engaging with customers

This is a great cafe. I always stop here when I'm on my way to see Yacht Marina. They could do with some more vegetarian options.

D'S is a little hidden gem of a place when youre looking for quality food at a reasonable price. Although it mainly caters towards car drivers, i managed to get my truck parked out the front, I ordered the Breakfast 1, which was extremely worth the price. Its not a high end restaurant, its the ideal place to stop off on your journey and enjoy a hearty breakfast or snack. Although the buulding is dated its ideal for what you need The staff great you with a smile and are very pleasant. Highly recommended

We came from the ferry from Harwich and looked for a diner for breakfast. Some craftsmen vans in front of the house, so it has to be good, we thought. We had the special 2 menue with two eggs, two slices of bacon, one saussage, beans and a hash brown. Four slices of bread and one coffee and one hot chocolate. It was all very good, hot and enough. The only thing was that the bread could have been toasted. The ladies in the service were very friendly and helpfull with the expressions we didn't know. From the outside it is not very inviting and it was a bit cold for us inside. But we will have it in our minds for further journeys and will definitely come back.

A banging brekky, decent ingredients and perfectly cooked, proper heart attack on a plate, exactly what I want in a good old full English

Great cafe! Food bang on, although the Bubble and Squeak is not as it should be! But to be fair....no cafes seems to do the proper stuff! But other than that.....5*

Great food, great service and lovely atmosphere. I drink espresso coffee and they especially got me little espresso cups in!! I bring family, friends & my grandchildren here regularly and they all love it too! The 'little ones' breakfast is huge and great value.

Good food and lovely staff.

Absolutely disgusted with the actions of the owner of this establishment who was astoundingly rude to a mother of two young children this morning. I was under the illusion that we lived in a tolerant and understanding community who value our future generations. Shocked and disgusted, we will not be back and would urge others to avoid!!!

Rude owner with no compassion for a mother trying to keep her child quiet...I certainly won't be back again and I would recommend people with children stay well away!

Went there for the first time a few weeks ago there was a hair in my friends coffee and a dog walking around in the kitchen would not be returning

On our first visit to d's diner we were turned away at 10 to 2 even though signs outside said closing at half 3! we should have known never to return after that, unfortunately my friends and i endured the worst breakfast I've ever had on thursday! Un cooked sausages, cold beans and a plate full of oil, and the funniest thing is I paid a ridiculous amount for this disaster! If the food weren't bad enough, the staff are worse. One cook in particular we could hear shouting from our table. We heard an entire disgusting conversation, and so did our children!! elderly people around were shocked at the words coming out of these young girls mouths! Rude and miserable! The place was filthy. Don't bother paying, just eat the food off of the tables, there's plenty on it! My recommendation is never ever visit and you'll have a lucky escape!

I wouldn't even give this cafe 1 star. From sitting metres away from the kitchen a few Tuesdays ago, the foul language myself and my husband heard was very inappropriate and very off putting. We did not even finish our breakfast due to the disgusting conversation that was being discussed. We were greeted with no smile as we paid for a breakfast which was also very off putting as that isn't very good first impressions. Due to just the topic of conversation we heard (isn't even appropriate to say on here) we will NOT be coming back to d's diner unfortunately. Another pointer as well is in future customers expect their toast with their breakfast not 10 minutes later. Thanks
