The Red Lion Inn - Hawkshead - Photo album

Lovely local pub with board games to play while you wait for your food. The Partridge supreme was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meals except for the fish and chips which was rather greasy.
Stayed here with my partner while visiting friends. A cosy pub, our room was part of the attic, spacious bedroom, but not high enough for me (no fault of the pub just my height)! Mind the bathroom was the size of an aircraft toilet and a 🚿 like a ⚰️ with a glass door! At least it was en-suite, spac
A Great Stay at The Red Lion Hawkshead. My recent visit near Ambleside to The Red Lion Hawkshead was fantastic. The blend of modern comforts and historic charm created a unique and enjoyable experience. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the refurbished pub and cozy bedrooms made for a comf
We arrived at the red lion shortly before out check in time but they let us check in early which was great! We had dinner in house for 3 of our nights and I can't fault the food, absolutely delicious! The breakfast that's included with our stay was also fantastic and there were choices of hot breakf
Great pub, we have eaten here many times over the years and for lunch and dinner this week on several occasions. The food is always well prepared, the beers well kept and the family running it are friendly with the service.
Two friends and I stayed here for a Saturday after climbing Scafell Pike. It’s is a beautiful location and there is a large car park about a 3/4 minute walk away from the pub. The room was lovely and well kept with a large television and amenities for hot chocolates, teas and biscuits etc. The ev
Lovely food, nice pint and good service πŸ‘
It's a nice pub and the food was OK. They are short staffed unfortunately, so quite a few things on the menu not available but what we had was nice.
Superb. Lovely querky room, the bed was comfy and the bedding was great. My had family room with extra beds. We had water bottles and tea/coffee facilities, all lovely, tidy and clean. Staff was great, very pleasant and quick to help. Limited car park spaces, we had to drive around village before we
Staff were warm and friendly, and more than accommodating. Food was excellent and the room was lovely. Couldn't be happier with my stay 😊
What can I say about this place, firstly the hotel itself is set in a charming and beautiful village of Hawkshead, rich with personality and culture. The hotel is quirky and its little labyrinth of rooms and corridors have personailty all of its own. The rooms are beautifully presented, clean with
Lovely pub with traditional beams and oldy worldy feel! Great food, fish and chips were huge. Smashing staff. Particular praise to Craig our 'waitress!!' who provided some entertainment while we ate.
We had a lovely lunch here yesterday, sitting in the beer garden. The beers are great and the fish goujon and the hunters chicken baguettes with chips and coleslaw were delicious at such a reasonable price too.
A lovely, well run and friendly pub/hotel. Food is good down to earth and tasty. Not a huge choice but certainly enough. Prices are, I would say, average. I stayed in a twin room for one night and was more than happy. Room had all the necessities and the beds were very comfortable. Clean, neat and t
Popped in for lunch. Warm welcome, good service and lovely food. And an absolutely beautiful Siberian Husky.
I ordered chicken roast dinner, it was excellent. With 2 chicken breasts, 5 roasties and mash plus brocoli, carrots and red cabbage with a Yorkshire pudding. Also with lovely tasty gravy Also ordered was Gammon, came with chips, 2 eggs, peas and grilled tomato. We'll presented and tasty. We had been
Fabulous pub, had some lovely meals here in the past and always stop here for a pint at the end of a long walk.
Lovely, friendly staff and absolutely delicious food at the oldest hotel in Hawkshead. The loos were slightly tired and we could tell the team were understaffed but this did not impact our meal or outing whatsoever. The food was definitely well worth the visit and an added bonus for the men in our f
Lovely family run pub with home cooked victuals. Beer was kept excellently. Landlord prided himself on his cellarship.
