Review Estate Tea Co - Heaton

David Mckeague
Connor is doing some great things at Estate Tea Co. Apart from the obviously sublime tea drinking experience (enough speciality teas to keep you going back for months!), The food is really where this place shines. With small batch specials and carefully curated menus, the chefs here always impress. Ask them for ideas for tea pairings, and you're going to have one of the best casual dining experiences in the city.

I have been wanting to go to this place and I have to say it surprises me that they do have many Authentic Chinese tea here which are the same with the ones I had in another authentic tea place. I would say this place is one of the most authentic Asian tea places in Newcastle. Unfortunately this time I didn’t try their food but I saw Udon and gyoza from the menu. I heard from my friend the food is really good so I am very much like to go back to this place in the future and try some food, then post more photos next time. plus I really like their interior design. Overall, I highly recommend this place to tea lovers.

My son and I called here after doing some DIY in his flat. It was mid afternoon and there were a few students scattered around on their laptops. We quickly ordered our drinks and food and it wasn't long before our drinks arrived. I had breakfast tea, my son had a black coffee. The tea was delicious, hot but not too strong and there was enough for 2 cups. My son said his coffee was really good too. We sat for a long time waiting for our food, eventually one of the staff came over and apologised for the delay with our food as they were having a problem with the app? Anyway, another 5 minutes passed and our food arrived, and I have to say that it was delicious. We both ordered the Block & Bottle bacon and sausage, Northumbrian eggs served on Northern rye sourdough bread, it really was worth the wait. Overall a great experience.

This amazing cafe got me through my degree and is hands-down the best spot in Newcastle. I don't know where I would be without its late opening times, thurs-sun and the combination of tea/cocktail goodness! The tea is absolutely to die for here and has turned me into an adventurous tea addict and the food is equally excellent! I actually love the beef chazuke so much that I begged for the recipe and the kindest chef ever let me see how to make it. So, so lovely! I can't thank this place enough. The staff really are treasures; they make the tea so perfectly that you can practically refill your teapot endlessly, and it will still be delicious, as well as being so kind and welcoming. They even remembered my regular cocktail order, which just shows their attention to customers! (Earl Grey Highball, btw, it is the best, and everyone must drink it) Even though I have sat in this cafe for whole days at a time with my computer, and must have been an annoyance, the staff have always made me feel welcomed here and deserve endless praises for how wonderful they are. I am so sad to finish my degree because it means I will say goodbye to this place: the best spot in Newcastle! Thank you so much, Estate Tea Company!

I don't drink as much tea as I used to, but the quality and choice is good. But today it was lunch that we came for, and that certainly did not disappoint! The soy glazed beef came with a tea based sauce and was superb. House pickles, gyozas, iced orange tea, everything was lovely - I didn't get to taste the noodles with tempura, but it looked amazing. I'll definitely be back to try a few other things on the menu.

Great cafe and bar. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is lovely and is good for either a social drink/lunch or getting some work done. There are plenty of sockets and laptop appropriate spaces. The teas are all brewed perfectly and there is a huge range. The food, particularly the noodle dishes, are wonderful. It's always our go to for a good lunch. Cakes from Patisserie Studio 28 and pastries from Northern Rye just top it all off.

We've been to Estate Tea many times for lunch and evening drinks, so thought it would be an ideal venue for my wife's 60th birthday celebrations - and it was! Tom, Lucy and Sam did a great job of looking after our 40 guests. The food - charcuterie by Block and Bottle, cheese from Grate, breads from Northern Rye and cakes by Studio 28 - was excellent and plentiful. The wide selection of drinks got us all into the party spirit. It was a really great night and everyone had a good time. We can highly recommended it as a venue for any event or social gathering...

Actually went here by mistake while looking for a place that did my usual (Butter chicken, Garlic Naan and a Mango Lassi) Even though they didn't do any of was really happy with their curry udon and tea selection that was far better. I shouted 'Waiter, Waiter!' but then realised I couldn't be heard. Great place! Five stars *****

Superb food - as a tea focussed place we were surprised at how great the food was. Worth going back for in its own right. We had tea, and lots of help from the staff, to choose ones we’d appreciate. Vegetable katsu curry. Perfect.
