Fantastic olde world pub. Hostess, Sandie was friendly and information. Great original features. Good choice of drinks. Didn't dine.Would highly recommend.

We have eaten here twice, both times haddock and chips for us but the grandchildren ate different meals. It was excellent. The batter was crisp and fish flakey. Charlie said it was the best chicken burger ever. The staff are really good and the atmosphere is good.

First visit and we really enjoyed it. Don't be put off by the interior no carpet on the floor presumably being prepped for a refit. Food was very good and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go again.

Best pint of Old Peculiar Ale I've tasted. Liquid heaven pleasantly served by a friendly barmaid. Unfortunately, when my son in law went back to the bar three new bar staff ignored him for other customers coming to the bar after him so we left feeling rather peeved.

Proper old fashioned boozer serving 4 real ales and cider. Full of bric-a-brac like copper miners lamps or blow torches. Food prices lowest in towm. Had a pint of Strongarm. (Cameron's defunct brewery?) Lots of locals in this tourist honey pot. Plus they knew Paulicarus is a Flat Eric! Big beer garden.

The White Horse in Hebden Bridge has been through Hell. But it's seen it all and carries on. Piled up furniture still bore witness to that. An elderly lady sat by the bar seemed to be directing operations as we arrived and we soon had our ale and a sandwich. This is not a real ale pub and more of a tourist location but the service remains good and the prices reasonable.

Glad the swan keeps resisting the floods. I cannot imagine the town without it. That said a step up is needed in its current condition. Food service is available and a good range of beer provides a nice enough pub environment, it is just let down a bit by it's aging decor and toilet facilities. The beer garden is still an excellent place to sit though and provides a good escape from the hustle and bustle of the main streets of the town.

Visited the white swan yesterday. ...walked into a staff atmosphere ..glass broken. .no one's fault. ...just dirty looks given out. ..food good. .yes slow service. ...the pub on the whole is good. ..just needs a bit of work. .lovely beer garden. .but needs a good tidy up. .but wouldn't take much. ..pubs are struggling these days. ..but this one is in a prime position. .in Hebden Bridge. ..it needs someone with vision and determination. ..first get staff on your side! ! Or it will go the same way as many others. ..

The bad reviews on here are laughable. The White Swan is a great, traditional pub that’s very welcoming and homely. If you want to pay daft prices for minimal food served on a slate or bit of drift wood then look elsewhere. This pub is honest, warm and homely. Everything you could want from a pub. Lunchtime menu is super value also. There aren’t many pubs like this left, treasure it.

We should have known, you get what you pay for! A group of 8 of us went in for lunch and drinks. We all ordered food individually but at the same time(within 5 minutes) the time between the first of our group to get food to the last was an hour difference. I ordered a cheese burger for less than £5 which was flat and poor quality. The "waitress" seemed to be doing me a favour when I asked for some condiments, tomato sauce and mayo being in short supply. Will not be going back. An experience not to be repeated! You have been warned!!!
